I am so excited to be answering a couple of your design questions today! First of all I am talking about MISTAKES I see when decorating TV walls. Now if you have been reading Nesting with Grace for awhile now. You know I am ALL about doing what works best for you and your family. BUT there are a few “rules” I like to follow when it comes to selecting the right size rug for a space and also when it comes to where to hang the TV.
One design question I wasn’t going to answer just yet but after I got it I thought it went perfectly along with this post today.
Cute Polly sent me this email-
“Originally, I had 4 counter stools, but my Decorator said it looked crowded, so I returned one. Every time I have grandchildren over, I’m really wishing I had 4 stools. They are now back in stock at WS HOME, and sure would love your opinion. Thx a million and blessings to you and your precious family.”
Here is her kitchen and the stools- Now knowing what I just said above. What do you think I would suggest to Polly?? I want you to go to my blog post and VOTE!!! Leave a comment telling Polly and I what she should do about the barstool situation!
Today I am answering SIX of your design questions! I love hearing from all of you. This is just a service I am offering to my subscribers, I really appreciate your continued support to my blog. If you haven’t asked me a design question you can just reply to this email with one and include a photo. I have also gotten a couple of questions like this- “how do you take your pictures” blogging questions and how I do my hair. That last one kills me because I literally only wash it once a week. Not sure if I will address the hair thing. BUT if you have other questions just reply to this email! I am going to answer one of the design questions here then pop over to todays post to see the rest! Ask a Designer- “We are going to paint this paneling Sherwin Williams Wordly Grey. The question I have is what would you hang above the couch? The picture frame paneling will still be there but it will be painted. It is hard to picture what to put above the couch.” From Sondra Nesting with Grace Suggestion– I don’t know if you have already painted the wood. Because I would paint the wood a lighter paint color. It would really brighten the space, because the gray will feel like the dark wood. You can honestly hang anything above your sofa. I wouldn’t let the wood paneling deter your from hanging art or doing a gallery wall there. Look at what I answered to the question on todays post about what to do above her sofa. I would suggest moving your rug back a little so the front legs of your sofa are on the rug, love your rug btw. P.S.- Remember my new Secretary Desk? Well that entire collection and all Target furniture is 30% off plus a secret code to save an extra 15%! I shared the code on todays blog post:)
So many of you have sent me design questions and I love it! I started to notice a trend in some of the questions so I thought I would address them all in one blog post. I answered FIVE of your questions that were along the lines of what to do with your walls. Come see the photos I was sent and what I recommend for the solution. My hope is that is helps others with similar design questions!
Here is a taste of what you will see on the blog today-
