Hi! I feel like I haven’t answered your design questions in awhile with all the Christmas Content I have been sharing! I have almost all my design file cleaned out in my in-box (I have about five left) and I am sure I will be getting a lot of new questions today after this post. I really love connecting with you this way- but these blog posts take me the most time (I don’t even want to say how long). Not complaining, I love it. Just sharing some facts:) But I know I could be more efficient. I know you have things in your life you know you could be quicker at. Am I right?
Anyways! So I hope you pop over and read todays blog post if you have time. I answered SEVEN design questions! And I emailed about 10 of you back last night, hopefully gave you some ideas.
The photo below is maybe one of my favorite that I gave an idea for- My wheels are spinning on where eI can put it in my house! It is really good.
PS- I replied to Jessica Olivero via email and it bounced back. Please email me and I will send you my ideas!
Oh boy, I answered a lot of your deign questions this week! It sure was fun seeing into your homes and getting to know you better. I answered 7 over on the blog today. I shared a REALLY fun transformation pic that all our Facebook group readers helped to solve! Pop over to see it.
Today I am answering one your questions here (I couldn’t find a great inspiration pic and the email I had to reply to her bounced back!).
So here we go…
“The picture with the television is the wall I am stuck on. I want my space to be functional and the desk doesn’t serve much purpose. I was wondering your opinion on what you think I need for this space- a upholstered bench for more seating, plant, ladder with blankets to add height?” Melanie
Nesting with Grace Suggestion-
I am answering 7 of your design questions today! I love the inspiration picture below from my friend Annie (linked on my blog). Today we are talking about kitchens, rug suggestions, an exterior question and more. Hope you pop over and think what you would do before I give my suggestion!
PS- I am trying to get caught up on all of your questions, well all that I got in October. So if you sent one in October- know you will be getting an email this week or see it on my blog next!
Remember this room from a past “Ask a Designer Series”?
Well Gina sent the picture below! She made the changes I suggested to her fireplace and it look so good!
Pop over to the blog today! I answered 7 of your Design Questions today. All about making a room cozy, mug racks, cocktail tables, entry piece, front porch and another fireplace!
Hello Friends! I am answering 6 of your design questions today! I answered about 10 of them via email the other night. I select the ones to share on my blog if I can find a good “inspiration picture” that helps to show what my design suggestion is.
I am excited about todays questions- they were fun to answer!
I do have one question I wanted you all to help me answer. So if you will go to my blog after this and leave a comment with what you suggest that would be so fun!
“My husband recently mounted our TV on the wall, and now i’m not sure what to do with the console. Does it still work in the space? If so, how can I decorate it?” Thanks, Ryan
I personally think the TV is hung too high. I think accessories below make it feel too busy. But if moving the TV down is not an option then I would do a large piece like a trunk under the TV. Or stacks of unique books.
Do you like accessories under the TV? And what would you suggest?
I also think THIS post on TV Consoles helps to answer this question!
Happy Monday Friends! I am answering your design questions today- 6 of them! I was surprised and I shouldn’t be how many of you have small homes too! I think there were three of you today with small home questions and I replied to others via email answering their design questions. Come peep into homes and see some major inspiration pics too.
I wanted to share this room from reader Joy- remember from a past “Ask a Designer Series” post she wanted to know if I would do wallpaper on the wall with the window. I suggested curtain panels instead. She just installed them and they look great! Really complete the space.
I am answering your design questions today, 7 of them! I received a lot of new questions and I am excited to get to them.
Here is one to kick us off…. (I can not find the original email, so I don’t have the name of who asked me! Please reply back if this was you!)
“Our home is very opened. Our living room is completely opened to the kitchen and breakfast area. There are two different floorings that separate the two (wood and tile). Then the foyer and dinning room and fairly opened as well. Currently, I have three different paint colors. I feel like it’s choppy, but I hate the thought of replacing expensive window treatments to match paint colors. Thoughts?”
I think it is the paint colors that is making your home feel chopping. I would consider painting it all the same color. The window treatments can be different in each room, even if it is open. Since you have different flooring everywhere all the same paint would make it cohesive!
Please head to my blog to see the other questions and leave a comment if you have a different suggestion!
Remember I am about two weeks out on getting to your questions. If you want a question answered sooner join our private Facebook Group HERE.
Oh boy! I got a lot of design questions from you and I love it! I keep them in a file in my email and start at the bottom and work my way up. Love seeing your homes and getting to know you better. I also love when you send me a pic on Instagram or via my email of a recipe you tried of mine or a change you made to your home from something you saw from me, it makes my day!
Today I am answering SIX of your design questions! So pop over to the blog to see the photos I got and my inspiration pics I shared to go along with them.
And I wanted to share a pic from a couple “Ask a Designer Series” a few weeks back from Kailey. She got her artwork and it looks so great in her space! Thanks for sending me a pic Kailey!
This is what it looks like now….
And before along with my suggestion…
