Homemade Christmas Gift Tags and a Birthday Party
My daughter just turned 6! She knew exactly what type of Birthday party she wanted. She insisted on a craft and she didn’t have to ask me twice! We made the cutest “Better than Salt Dough” ornaments. I made another batch the next day and am using them on our Christmas Presents- trust me you want to see how they turned out!

Mudroom Reveal- Lowes Makeover
I am so excited to finally share this Mudroom makeover today! Let me tell you- this project was a lot of fun to partner with Lowes on. We took submissions from homeowners that live in or near my hometown of Fairfield, Connecticut and selected one homeowner for a room makeover. Come see the completed project with the before photos and meet our cute little homeowners we selected for this makeover!
Ideas for Succulents- The Best House Plants
Succulents! They are my favorite house plant. I recently had the best two days- I kept having to pinch myself! We had an awesome magazine come to our little home and take some pictures to be featured in their magazine. After they wrapped up their two days of shooting they asked if I wanted the leftover succulents. I was secretly hoping they would ask. I started planting the succulents all over our house in any empty container I had. Result- 11 new succulents to go with the 4 I already had. Yep, 15 succulents in 1100 square feet- not bad. Come see where they all are in our home!
Lowe’s Mudroom Inspiration Design Ideas
I am getting so excited to share the completed Lowes Fall Mudroom Makeover project. In a nutshell- I am partnering with Lowes to makeover one room for one deserving family that lives near my hometown. The family we selected are so sweet, they have three darling kids all under the age of four with one more on the way and they have a mudroom that needed an update. I got to meet them this weekend. I have been working with them via email to select everything for their mudroom. I just went to their home this past weekend to install everything! We finished late in the night and I plan on going back this weekend to take pictures when there is some light. Come see pictures of the install day and all the before photos along with my design idea board.
Ceiling Makeover
Thank you for all the love on my post yesterday on all our new bedding details. We are really enjoying our fluffy bedding. We also enjoy the view laying in our bed looking up at the ceiling. Our old ceiling was hard- literally. They were square tiles. But they were not tiles that you could push up and they would move. It was like sheetrock that was imprinted with a tile stencil. We kept debating on what we could do to makeover the ceiling. Everything seemed like too much work or too messy. With a small house there isn’t room to take things out of the bedroom and tear down the ceiling. So we decided to go with wood planks- are they faux or real? Come and see…
Hanging Pendant Light DIY
I heard somewhere that an overhead light should only be turned on if you lost an erring! I totally agree. Overhead light can be so harsh, not very cozy or inviting. That is one thing I love about our 1950’s Cape is that there is hardly any overhead lighting, forcing everyone to switch on a lamp for light. I fell in love with THESE pendant lights and did not have a spot in the traditional sense of where a pendant light should go. We added a plug instead of hardwiring it, it was so easy. Come see how we did it. I also shared the link to pillows that I had a lot of questions on from my Instagram post.
Apply for a Lowe’s Fall Makeover
I am so excited to share that I have teamed up with Lowe’s to help one homeowner in my home town transform a room in their home and it could be YOU! Yes, that is right…I will help one homeowner transform an area that needs some updates in their home. I am thrilled to be apart of this great makeover just in time for the Holidays! I cant think of a better time to focus on getting our homes ready for family and friends to gather in.
Easy DIY Hardware Updates
I am slightly obsessed with drawer knobs, pulls and hardware. Whenever I go to Anthropologie I normally walk directly to the bin of hardware. Hardware can change the look of a piece. A mainstream chest can go from something that you see everywhere to looking like a vintage collected piece. I looked around my house and noticed a trend, almost every piece I own has new hardware added to it. Come see my easy updates and tips!
DIY Glass Terrarium
We went to my friend Annie’s home, who is a fellow blogger and lives about 25 minutes from my house in Connecticut. We were inspired by a recent book series to make glass terrariums. My daughters are using the completed project as night lights in their room. Come see the finished product and more of Annie’s lovely home.
