YOU GUYS! FRIENDS! No really LISTEN up! I am so excited to share this home tour with you today I have to yell at you! I creeped my way into this coastal home in our neighborhood and took a million pictures to share with you today. I don’t know if I can pick one spot I love the most, it is all so good. I really love how original and unique it is. Such an eclectic mix of wallpaper and unique pieces. I can’t wait for you to see it. Please leave a comment on my post. Tell me what is your favorite part and if you like to see these type of posts on my blog!
I am excited to share three different ways I accessorized my piano. I hope these three different ways will help determine your design style. I am sure there will be one that you say…YEP, that’s the one I like. You can also see the finished look of the wallpaper I just applied behind my piano wall. It is the heart of our home- right in the center of it all so it get’t a lot of love, attention and changes. As promised here is what the other side of the room looked like while I was changing the accessories on my piano three different times. #reallife
PS- I will be answering A LOT of design questions tomorrow on my blog. If I have not gotten to your design question yet, it is coming up! I am going to start the series “Ask Nesting with Grace.” Thank you for your feedback!
PSS- Please leave a comment on my blog telling me what design style you like best!
Hello from the crazy wallpaper lady! Am I that girl? Well I don’t really care, I like it and that is all that matters. Am I Right?! I know you all agree- do what you love in your home. I have to say that adding a wallpaper accent wall is a really good idea and Domino Magazine agrees with me! Come read why and see what the new wallpaper I just hung in my girls bedroom looks like.
But as promised I will share just with you the “the mess” and it actually isn’t too and looking at these pics. If I could have zoomed in on all the dust bunnies under the beds when I slid them away from the wall, that would have been the real deal.
If you follow me over on Instagram you might have seen my long winded explanation of the day I had when I snapped the below pic. Basically it involved a stove that was too dirty and created a bunch of smoke while baking cookies. Flies everywhere from having the doors open…trying to clear the smoke out. And not being able to walk in this room all while friends from church were over for a visit.
I like to be real with you guys, my home doesn’t always look like the pictures you are going to see on today’s blog post- but hopefully it still feels lived-in and loved.
And you walk away inspired and do not feel less-than when you see our home.
I am not answering an “Ask Nesting with Grace” Design question today. I will be answering a couple of them tomorrow via this email and also on my Friday Favorites Blog Post. So stay tuned. If you haven’t sent me a design question yet- what are you waiting for?! It could also be a blogging question, anything really! Love to hear from you.
P.S.- If you are wanting to try Temporary Wallpaper and want a little sample of one that I have in my home let me know and I can send you one or ask one of contacts for one. Just reply to this email.
I shared a peek of the new wallpaper we applied to the dormer ceiling in our family room on my Spring Home Tour. Today I shared more pictures of the finished space and how easy it was to install. I also shared the saga of the Lego’s in this room- there was kind of a little drama with my daughter after I moved them. Thankfully we resolved it…come see our solution.
Thank you for all the love on my post yesterday on all our new bedding details. We are really enjoying our fluffy bedding. We also enjoy the view laying in our bed looking up at the ceiling. Our old ceiling was hard- literally. They were square tiles. But they were not tiles that you could push up and they would move. It was like sheetrock that was imprinted with a tile stencil. We kept debating on what we could do to makeover the ceiling. Everything seemed like too much work or too messy. With a small house there isn’t room to take things out of the bedroom and tear down the ceiling. So we decided to go with wood planks- are they faux or real? Come and see…
I have blogged about our master bedroom more times than is probably “normal.” Every time that I have shared our master bedroom you have never seen the ceiling. It is always strategically cropped out. That is because I was hiding a secret. The ceiling was bad. But now is the day you get to see the ceiling in all it’s glory- be excited. And a new ceiling leads to new bedding- rug- lighting, you know the drill. Come see the big reveal.
I SO wish I had a before of this closet I recently updated. First of all it is nice that we even have a closet in our tiny bathroom, any storage we can get in our little cape is so appreciated. But…it was NOT functional. This closet is in our upstairs bathroom. Our girls use this bathroom and also share it when guests come. I wanted to give it a little more life. I love adding a little bit of character in unexpected places. While organizing the shelves for the bathroom essentials. Comes the fun changes I made!
I had to document where his room has been featured so Finn can see it one day, not that he will care but it could be a fascinating fact that he shares when he meets new people;) hehe. From one of the top design blogs, Design Sponge to a huge source for baby decor, Project Nursery. I also shared some of my tips and tricks with Wayfair. I linked them all below. I also get asked often what the paint is on the walls and I shared that as well.
Ashley from House of Five recently made over her sons bedroom, and it stopped me in my tracks. I had to ask her to share it with us! I asked Ashley how she came up with the design idea for this darling “Americana” themed bedroom. I love the reason she chose this theme. Come see why it means so much to her and a complete list of sources.
I am so excited to be sharing our home for Simply Summer Home tour hosted by Nina Hendrick and Country Living. This week 29 other bloggers have been inviting us into their homes to show us some fresh summer updates. I love seeing where people live and how they make their environment comfortable and inspiring to them. I will share a lot of our home and simple changes I make for one of my favorite seasons. Including one of my favorite things, new wallpaper!
We recently updated our upstairs family room with new wallpaper, lighting, rug and a barn track door. If you have been following my blog you know that our home is a 1200 square foot Cape in Connecticut. The previous home owners used this space as a master bedroom. When I was deciding how we would use the home I knew I couldn’t take a large room like this for our master bedroom. Now living in the home for over a year, I am completely happy with the decision to turn it into our family room, this room gets used a lot! It also doubles as a guest room. Before I show you the entire room I wanted to show you the before when the previous home owners lived there and so you can imagine it as a master bedroom…
It doesn’t matter the size of the space, even in a tiny house everyone can have an area that inspires them to create and play. And honestly with an organized clean play area it creates play more often and encourages them to keep it nice and clean up when they are done. Read about the updates we did to create an inspiring area with a chalkboard wall and other ways DIY touches.
