I am excited to show you the Christmas tree tree's in our Front Room which we call the Family Room too because this is where we gather as a family to read, play and dance. And today is another stop on our Seasons of Home Series hosted by Ella Claire Inspired. I did some rearranging in this room for the Christmas Season and I have to say I love the change! Just moved pillows from one room to the other and wala! viola! tada! A new room! I keep saying this room reminds me of a giant sweater with all the yarn, felt, fur and texture. Just super cozy and warm- because in a 1950's house the ... Read More

Maximize A Small Space with a Secretary Desk
Living in a small space has been a learning curve. I can move something an inch and be like...YES! why didn't I do that before? Seriously. Small homes or small rooms for that matter have to be maximized, everything has to serve a purpose or it is out. I talked about this new Secretary Desk I found a couple weeks ago. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it in our small house. I had a small dresser by our front door before, I did like the dresser for storage but it was old and the drawers didn't open too well- it was frustrating. So it got cut. I am not sure if this Secretary Desk will stay ... Read More
Outdoor Patio and Living Space with Hanging Chair
I recently worked with one of my best friends to update her outdoor patio. This friend is one of the BEST hosts, she always is the first to open her doors to have friends and herds of kids over. Not only does she welcome everyone in she is also the most relaxed when hosting, I want to be like her. I was thrilled to help her expand her living space outdoors. This outdoor space will be used and loved more than any outdoor space I know. And lucky me I get to enjoy it too when I come in town. First this is what the outdoor space looked like BEFORE... They have a really nice deck and ... Read More
Small Bathroom Ideas and Solutions in our Tiny Cape
If you are a reader here you know that our house is 1100 square feet. We consider ourselves lucky to have two bathrooms, a lot of the capes in our area and the ones we looked at before buying our home only had one bathroom. Funny how you can change your perspective from not feeling like you have enough room to gratitude when you look at the positive. Although our bathrooms are small I have grown to appreciate them and learned how to make the most of all of our small spaces. We used to have three bathrooms in our Utah home and they were all pretty big. So we have had to learn to find clever ... Read More
Maximize every inch in your small kitchen
Hello! I have been asked a handful of times- "what is on the other side of your fridge?" No? You haven't asked that? Well I am going to tell you, I am sure you are totally interested now. It is actually one of the hardest 2'x2' working spots in our home. It really is all about maximizing every inch in a small kitchen, actually a small home for that matter. First I wanted to show you what inspired this space in our kitchen. I found THIS photo from Country Living Magazine. This home has a small kitchen too and a small home actually. I wish I had room for a little desk ... Read More
Kids Space on a Budget with Zevjoy
I follow Annie from Zevjoy on Instagram and I am so inspired by all her DIY projects and her gorgeous photography. She is known for her simple, natural and easy way of designing and she does it all on a budget. I asked Annie to share her recent update she just did to her son's bedroom for my Kids Space Series on my blog. You are going to love her ideas... I asked Annie where the main inspiration came from for her son's bedroom. Sometimes it can come from a piece of art, a pillow and for Annie it started with the stripe bedding from Beddy’s. Annie had picked out the easy to make bedding ... Read More
Outdoor Living Inspiration and Progress
We have been getting our deck ready for Spring and Summer. We just started to get all of our furniture delivered from Raymour and Flanigan. My husband spent some time setting it all up, with excited girls watching. With a tiny house you really look forward to your outdoor space becoming an extension of your home. It allows us to invite friends over and not feel so stressed about where to put everyone. When we purchased our home one of the big things that sold us, and mainly my husband was the large backyard and deck. I like to gather inspiration on Pinterest. I start by pinning ... Read More
