We added about 125 square feet to our kitchen. It is now full of glorious storage for plates and dishes and food! However, sometimes when we get more space (whether from moving or de-cluttering or renovating), it can be tempting to start filling that space right back up with things. Anyone else? I have learned so much from living in our small home about staying on top of the "stuff" that we have and keeping things organized and tidy, that I was determined to put our kitchen back together in an organized and efficient way. We didn't add more- just can now put things in cupboards that was spread ... Read More

Our new TimberTech Deck with Contemporary Rail and String Lights
Our back deck is really an extension of our living space. When you live in a smaller home, every room is a living room and this outdoor great room has always been that for us! We love to make smore's and unwind as a family on our back deck. As soon as the weather permits, we eat dinner out here nightly. When we open up the Christen bed and breakfast to visiting friends and family, we are out here even more. Oh, the memories we have made here. When we added on to our home, we had to remove the old wood deck to make space for our kitchen and master bathroom. Honestly, it was a little ... Read More

Nestle Down Ideas- When you are Stuck at Home!
I have 13 things you could do right now while we are all nestled in at home. If you are like me achieving things gives me energy and boosts my mood. Do one small thing a day, especially if you have kids at home and you are trying to be a teacher too (praise to all the teachers!!!). Don't get overwhelmed but I think we could all benefit if we do something. We have rain in our forecast and rather than cry (which I might do too) I am going to have the kids help us get the house ready, so when the sun shines we can head out and enjoy it. Focus on what we CAN do not what we can't do! 13 Nestle Down ... Read More
Dormer Master Bedroom with a new Affordable Rug and Finishing Touches!
Friends of ours, Joel and Sue recently moved into a new home, after living in the same home for over 20+ years. They had to move to a new place. It is the cutest older home with a lot of charm. I met Joel and Sue when I moved to Connecticut 5 years ago, they own a CrossFit in my area. I was planning on trying all the CrossFit's then deciding what one to go to, but they were both so nice and I ended up ... Read More

White Boho Master Bedroom Makeover
We gifted this bedroom makeover for a sweet friend of mine, Nikki. I met her while waiting for our daughters, who were killing it in a hip hop class:). Nikki was instantly an example of a genuine, loving person. We got talking and I found out that her home had burned down about a year prior. They were all set to move in, and had moved in all of their furniture and possessions. Thankfully they decided not to sleep there, because their brand new home caught fire and burned down in the middle of the night. It was a traumatic experience, as you can imagine. They had to rebuild and do it all ... Read More
