I need your help! I brought our old ottoman from our family room to our front room to try it out for size. Because our baby boy is walking so I can change up what we have in this space. Come see what I am deciding between. I also shared my tips when looking for a new piece of furniture in your home.

Daydream Wallpaper and the Legos
I shared a peek of the new wallpaper we applied to the dormer ceiling in our family room on my Spring Home Tour. Today I shared more pictures of the finished space and how easy it was to install. I also shared the saga of the Lego’s in this room- there was kind of a little drama with my daughter after I moved them. Thankfully we resolved it…come see our solution.
Bookcase styling and a Blunt Facebook Comment
Facebook brings out the bold and the beautiful. People are not afraid to say if they “like” something. I learned that the hard way. Someone shared a photo of my front room on their popular Facebook page and I got a not so nice comment. I actually learned a thing or two from it and took it as constructive- come see what I mean.
Christmas Home Tour- Part II
I am excited to share more of our home decorated for Christmas. I shared one of our hardest working rooms- our family room and guest room all decked out with a full size Christmas tree. I also shared some new dining chairs I tried in our kitchen- that my husband wasn’t a fan of. Pop over to see it all!
Eclectic Fall Home- Take II
I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to join in the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours, hosted by my friend Lindsay from White Buffalo Styling Co. and 30 other bloggers. I shared our kitchen and family room this time and how I add little touches of fall in an easy, natural and inexpensive way.
DIY Bohemian Pillow
With summer in full swing I am always looking for DIY projects that are quick and have immediate results. I made a pillow that requires no sewing and is something even kids could do! It is a fun, easy DIY project that can be done in less than 20 minutes. This will also only cost you less than $12. All you need is a 2×3 rag rug, yarn, batting and a sewing needle and you can complete this project.
New Family Room Barn Track Door
Ever since the day we moved into this house of January of 2015 I have wanted a sliding barn track door. First of all the doors in the upstairs of our Connecticut Cape are hallow core doors, not like our nice 1950’s solid wood doors on our main level. I was searching on Instagram and came across wood doors from White Shanty and fell in love with their style. They aren’t your typical rustic “barn” door look. I found a classic style door and we are thrilled with the look in the space and how much space it saves. Come see the before photos and how we made it work in a tight space.
Family Room with Wallpaper and Chalkboard Wall
We recently updated our upstairs family room with new wallpaper, lighting, rug and a barn track door. If you have been following my blog you know that our home is a 1200 square foot Cape in Connecticut. The previous home owners used this space as a master bedroom. When I was deciding how we would use the home I knew I couldn’t take a large room like this for our master bedroom. Now living in the home for over a year, I am completely happy with the decision to turn it into our family room, this room gets used a lot! It also doubles as a guest room. Before I show you the entire room I wanted to show you the before when the previous home owners lived there and so you can imagine it as a master bedroom…
