About 2 years ago I was sitting on the beach at 10 am. Don't worry I will totally get to how we could be making our home look cheap, just stick with me. I was watching Ella in her swim lessons while keeping an eye on Lola as she played in the water and sand. Out of the corner of my eye walked up an older couple, probably in their late 70's. I continued to watch them. The woman had a swim cap in her hand that she carefully put on while the man stood patiently by her side. I was so engrossed with what they were doing, wondering if they were going to go for swim in the ocean. I smiled and ... Read More

Summer Home Decor- 2017 Master Bedroom and Summer Bucket List
Hello! Welcome to the rest of our summer home tour. I am excited to be joining with Nina Hendrick and an amazing group of bloggers to share the simple changes we have made to our homes for summer. I shared last week our front room, girls bedroom and kitchen. I really try to be intentional with everything we bring into our home. I am a questioner and question the purpose and meaning....yes, even for our home decor. My style evolves and what I like changes too. But one thing that is pretty consistent is the feeling. Our home is a collected home. Home decor that we have found along the way and it ... Read More
Summer Home Decor Ideas- Our Summer Tour 2017
Hello friends and new friends stopping over from A Stroll Thru Life Summer Home Tour! I love joining with other bloggers to peek inside their homes and get ideas for Summer home decor. Not to mention it is a good push to get me to change things up. I can get stuck in a rut and feel un inspired with my home. But I tell you what, it is amazing what moving things around and brining in a couple of new pieces does for your mood and energy. I sold some pieces that were collecting dust in my basement because I thought I would use them again in my home decor, but I should know that once it goes to the ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Design Tips
I have five quick design tips for you today! These are design tips that I live by. Also some very casual pics from the week and some of my favorite things. I talked about this over on my Instagram the other day, I had someone say on FB a comment about my family room. Now I don't share this to have you say "poor Brooke". It really wasn't like that. Another blogger had shared my family room over on her FB page (thank you!) and the comment was... "That room would look so much better with a bigger cocktail table." (You can shop my entire front room HERE) I agree with the design tip- ... Read More

Paleo Coconut Pineapple Easter Cake and Printable Cake Topper
I am joining Annie from Zevy Joy and a talented group of bloggers today to share some Easter inspiration! My daughter made me worried yesterday saying Easter was this coming Sunday! After brief panic I realized...it is not, we have about two weeks. But her little mistake started a fire under me to get Easter baskets put together and make a plan for our Easter Sunday. We go to church every Sunday, but really look forward to church on Easter Sunday. After church when we lived in Utah we would go to brunch on one side of the family then dinner at the other and Easter egg hunts at both. Now we are ... Read More

Painted Piano- Soft Pink- Chalk Paint
We did it. We painted the piano. Again. I shared a couple posts back that I had the itch to change it up and had a soft pink on the brain. It was like it came to me in a dream, not really just in a daydream actually. So I went with it. After thinking pink I searched my paint deck and online looking for ideas. I came across chalk paint in a soft pink. I had originally used chalk paint the first time we painted our piano and loved the result, not to mention how quick and easy it was to paint. I decided to go with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint again. My sweet hubby actually painted it pink for me when ... Read More
Banquette Seating- Cha cha cha changes in our Kitchen
January was our two year anniversary of living in our little cape in Connecticut. We were quick to make a lot of changes to the home right when we moved in. I couldn't wait to paint the entire house, rip out the carpet in our upstairs, update both bathrooms and tackle the outdated kitchen. We did all of it within the first few months. I really wanted to add some sort of banquette style seating in our little eat-in kitchen. But I was tired of spending our savings on this house and just wanted to be done with the projects. So I made our settee work and created a little banquette with what we ... Read More
Connecticut Home Tour
Hello! This is our home in Fairfield, Connecticut. We lived here for 6 years and loved it! We picked this home because of the location, and knew we could make it better than before, and investment! Half a mile to the beach, or take a short walk into town, then hop on a train and in an hour you would be in New York City watching a play or eating somewhere yummy! The home was 1100 square feet, with an unfinished basement, that had all our storage, and laundry (basement couldn't ever be finished due to living in a flood zone). We remodeled and added on about 300 square feet (you can see our floor ... Read More
