Thought I would do an updated blog post on changes in our yard from a new outdoor slide for our pool, hanging chairs, removal of trees, which snowballed to other projects! We had plans drawn up for a stand alone gym, and we built an outdoor kitchen (sharing that next week). Things are blooming in our yard and wanted to share! Clean Home Challenge with Daily Task Calendar
I made a very simple, and easy to-follow, 30 Days to a Clean Home Calendar for you!!!! My biggest tip is to use plant-based products to complete each task, I have a favorite below! You'll be shocked to know you really only need two products for cleaning and deep cleaning. If you find yourself opening the windows to ventilate the room when you clean from the strong chemical smell, or worried about cleaning products getting on your skin or causing headaches…time to ditch the toxic cleaning products. Swap out the old and make way for new, plant-based cleaning products the whole family will ... Read More
All the Paint Colors in our Home and Wallpaper
I finally put all the paint colors in our Utah Home in one place! And I compiled my favorite paint from past projects at the end of this post. First let's chat chat about paint sheen. For ceiling sheen, I prefer flat. For trim and door sheen, I prefer semi-gloss. Lastly, for wall sheen, I prefer eggshell. In our current home we used A LOT of Farrow & Ball paint colors. I LOVE Farrow & Ball colors, and their actual paint is high-end and gorgeous. That being said, we hired a painter to paint our home and our cabinet designer painted our cabinets. I gave them the names and actual paint ... Read More
Holiday and Winter Front Porch 2022
We brought Christmas to our front porch for the Holidays! And this look will carry over nicely through the winter. This year feels a little more classic Christmas with greens and the glow of white Christmas lights. Plus my new favorite yard decor (bye bye giants skeletons) the cutest rattan reindeer! We have a lot of potted greens that get moved around the yard, I like the tall pine trees mixed in to feel more like Christmas, then I usually string lights on them for an extra festive look. Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post Holiday Front Porch- ... Read More
Fall Front Porch with Halloween Vibes
A new season means it's time to refresh the porch!I love the whole "out with the old and in with the new" clean feeling. So many new options of adding fall greens and flowers and pops of colorful pumpkins. This year I stuck to cream and white pumpkins and black accents, with a pop of purple (obviously). I was inspired by a vintage black owl I found thrifting. Just takes one starting off piece to be inspired and get you excited to start a project! Fall Front Porch- ... Read More
Simple Ways to Add Fall Decor- Our Fall Family Room
I have something to tell you. I hung bats in my entry, and I took them down the next day. Maybe it's just me, but typical seasonal decor like that overwhelms me. Instead, I hung them on my exterior door, they don't bother me outside with my fall porch! My approach for interior seasonal decor is to keep it simple. Often I will move something and replace it with something I already have for the season. And you can really call anything seasonal decor based on a color or feeling you want to create in your home for the season. I just swap things around my home. Or, I like to call it "shop my home". ... Read More
Girls Jack and Jill Bathroom- Utah Ranch Home
The girls know how lucky they are to have their own space to get ready everyday! When we bought our 1970's ranch style home there wasn't a second floor. The exterior felt like it needed a little something to add curb appeal. We went from just wanting to add dormers to adding an entire second floor. It transformed the exterior and made for the dreamiest bedrooms. Biggest bonus was the Jack and Jill bathroom we were able to add too. Here are all the photos of their bathroom, I sourced everything at the bottom! Bathroom Sources JavaScript ... Read More
Summer Berry Crisp
Have I told you how much I love a crisp? Peach crisp, apple crisp, berry crisp...I love them all! It really just depends on the time of year it is for the filling you want to use. Summer is when you're going to find the best berries, think fruit stands and Farmers Markets! What's also great is you can use frozen berries and love this dessert all year long. Ella helped me make this Berry Crisp, she agreed it was quick and so yummy! We had minimal clean up because we used a cast iron skillet. Sharing that recipe with you today…. ... Read More
Inside our Garage- Garage Gym, Garage Floors and More
We didn't have a garage for the 7 years we lived in Connecticut, so now that we have one it is a REAL treat. Our garage has three separate garage door, we turned one of the garage stalls into our garage gym. We initially wanted to do a stand-alone gym in the yard, but couldn't build anything due to the water easement (basically a big water pipe running in our yard). We park both our cars in the other two stalls. Besides cars, there really isn't much room for anything else. We walk through the garage multiple times a day so we wanted to make the floor nice. And, we LOVE how it all turned ... Read More
