We recently did a bedroom makeover for my friend, Laila. We have shared their kids bedrooms and her office, thankful she lets us come in and take over rooms in her home to share ideas with you, and she works right along side me getting it done! Laila and her family moved into this home about a year ago, it was built in the 90's and has a great footprint, but it needed some updating and Laila's personality in it! Their bedroom is now my favorite room in their house, it feels so much bigger, brighter and still manages to feel cozy. Ready to see it? First take a look at my design ... Read More

9 Year Old Boys Bedroom Makeover with Loft Bed
Nash is the twin brother to Navy that we recently gave a bedroom makeover to! It was his turn and he was bouncing off the walls excited! The kind of kid you just want to do things for because he is so thankful. He really wanted a loft bed. If he could describe a "dream bed" it would be a loft bed. His bedroom is on the smaller side, about 9'x11' (I enjoy decorating a small bedroom, a design challenge). Nash loves to draw and will spend hours in his room drawing, so another reason for the loft bed, a built-in desk under his bed. Ready to see the makeover?? Thanks to all our helpers that helped ... Favorite Soup Our Kids LOVE- White Bean Chicken Chili in Slow Cooker
Ella asks for the same meal every week, white bean chicken chili. She LOVES it. All our kids do! I have seen lots of variations of this classic white bean chicken chili recipe. You could add more broth to make it more like a soup, but we like a chili consistency to dip a chip in. We also add carrots to our version. We make most our soups and chilis in a slow cooker, for a quick easy dinner. I actually prefer to only make meals that require one pan or one pot, does that mean I am lazy or efficient?? Maybe don't answer that. ha! I am sharing that white bean chicken chili recipe and some of our ... Read More
Twin Bedroom with Wave Wallpaper- In-Laws Home
We are back at my in-laws home! We started this twin guest room for the grandkids a few weeks ago and finally finished it! My in-laws have 15 grandkids and extended family who don't live close, so when they come in Utah they can stay in one of their guest rooms. My mother-in-law did order a few things before we had an official plan, so I had a few things to work with like the rug, wallpaper, and ceiling fan. She loved the wave wallpaper we had in our girls shared bedroom in Connecticut so she ordered that and the same ceiling fan. Thank you The Company Store for sponsoring this ... Read More
Christmas in Finn’s Bedroom- Coziest Plaid Bedding
I changed Finn's bedding to classic flannel for the holidays and I am obsessed! I also added a small Christmas tree, so special for kids to add to the magic of Christmas, or even a strand of lights around their window. He loves it all, except for the Nutcrackers, he likes them in the day, but turns them around so they "aren't watching him" while he sleeps. Bless. Sharing Christmas magic in Finn's bedroom today! Guest Room Ready- Making the Bed, Guest Basket and Free WIFI Printable
Do you host guests often? Or maybe more around the holidays? We LOVE to host guests. I haven't always had a dedicated guest room. I would suggest creating a dedicated space with a door when guests do come. Maybe kids could sleep on a blowup mattresses on your bedroom floor and guests can stay in their room. Just clean the kids room really well, even put away personal items so guests can use the empty surfaces. Then you can apply any of these tips to a guest space or any of your beds! Simple Ways to Add Fall Decor- Our Fall Family Room
I have something to tell you. I hung bats in my entry, and I took them down the next day. Maybe it's just me, but typical seasonal decor like that overwhelms me. Instead, I hung them on my exterior door, they don't bother me outside with my fall porch! My approach for interior seasonal decor is to keep it simple. Often I will move something and replace it with something I already have for the season. And you can really call anything seasonal decor based on a color or feeling you want to create in your home for the season. I just swap things around my home. Or, I like to call it "shop my home". ... Read More
Navy’s Bedroom Makeover- 9 Year Old Girl
I shared that we were giving Ella's rug to Navy for her bedroom makeover. Navy is the daughter to our high school friends, Andrew and Casi. Navy is a twin to Nash, I actually decorated their nursery (with Andrew) as a surprise when Casi was in the hospital having them! Nash has a room of his own and it was time for Navy to get a new bedroom that fits her sweet personality. We surprised her one day after school. Her thankful, sweet reaction was priceless! Living Room and Painted Piano Makeover for Deserving Single Mom
I am excited to share this makeover today with you. About 4 months ago a sweet family in our community lost someone very dear. Jd, husband and father to five, was hit by a motorcycle right in front of his home. So heartbreaking. My good friend Kelly is neighbors with the family. I was talking to Kelly about the tragedy, wondering what we could do for Lindsey and her five kids, who are grieving. We decided to surprise them and makeover the first room you see when you walk into their home. The room that set's the tone and feeling for what is to come. We wanted to give them a peaceful place to ... Read More
What Every Guest Room Needs- Triplet Guest Room
We had 12 women sleepover this past weekend, it was so much fun. And one night we hosted 30 women for a party who were all mostly from out of town. Some of them stayed at an Airbnb, and it got us talking about things they were frustrated weren't in the guest rooms. Some of the items seem like an obvious must-have for anyone who has a guest space. Floor mirror anyone?? I have shared a post before on the top things guests really want, but thought it deserved a refresh! Bedding Sources- Mattress Cover- this is a must for guest beds! Breathable cotton with no added chemicals or ... Read More
