Our little 1950's cape does have an unfinished basement that won't ever be finished due to the fact that we live in a flood zone. Or if we add onto our home we would have to fill it in. We use the basement daily because it is also our laundry room, extra pantry, supply room, tool room, playroom (has a fuse-ball table) and more! It did not have a very welcoming entrance, leaving one of my kids afraid to go down there. I thought it would be a great place to add a fun wallpaper and of course a "Magic Light"! Basement Entrance BEFORE- It is funny how you live with something and ... Read More

Friday Favorites starts with Cleaning and Flowers
I LOVE Fridays. I actually have something to love about everyday. Don't you? But Fridays are typically my "house day". I am getting projects done around the house. I do most the deep cleaning, washing sheets, de-cluttering from the mess we might have made from the week. The biggest mess is un-seen in the basement! I like to get the big chores done so we can play with the kids and have a fun weekend. Do you tackle projects and cleaning on Fridays? Or do you have one day that you do the deep cleaning? We do laundry all through the week and vacuum daily. Makes me super thankful for only 1100 ... Read More
Small Space Living Series- 180 square feet with Arrows and Bows
First of all, I am so thrilled about this Small Space Living Series. It was inspired by all of YOU and all of the questions you ask me on a daily basis. I asked over on Social Media what you wanted to know and I was flooded with so many good questions. I interviewed about 5 Bloggers (so far) who all live in "small homes". Which by the way is up for debate on what is considered a small home. When I researched "what is a small home?" The answer- 2500 square feet or smaller. It said the average American home is 2500 square feet and less than that is "small". I personally consider under 1500 a ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Bathroom Storage Solution
I shared our little bathroom closet over on Instagram and I had a lot of questions. I thought I would share it here too. This closet is in our upstairs bathroom. It actually had bi-fold doors on it when we moved in. They would open on the right and it was really hard to get into! So we took the doors off and it was much easier to do then I thought. Simple bathroom storage solution done in 5 minutes....really! Think of taking the doors off an area that is not functional for you. I kept everything in the small open closet white and light. Something about bathroom storage you want it to ... Read More
Kids Toy Organization- Custom Rolling Storage Bin
I have a simple follow up DIY tutorial from the nursery I shared a week or so ago. This is an easy custom Toy Storage Idea for a kids room or baby nursery. Even think outside the "Toy" label I put on it and use it for a unique rolling hamper in a laundry room or really ANY space that you can think of and need custom storage for. This custom way to organize toys cost under $50 and the original version that gave me my inspiration was well over $125. A lot of you requested this tutorial from when you saw it on the nursery post and on my Instagram Stories (videos I shared on ... Read More

Friday Favorites starts with ways to Make the Most of Everything
On my Instagram the other day. I talked about how my really good friend lived in a small house in Downtown Salt Lake City. Most homes in that area are older, just like mine and smaller scale. I have to say I LOVED driving up to her home and passing the small quant restaurants all glowing at night. She lived on the most charming street, one of those streets you want to get out and walk so you can peep in the windows. Well one of downsides to this charming area and home is lack of storage. Back then we lived in 3,000 square feet in a new residential area. I have to admit I was a little horrified ... Read More
Back To School-Three Tips That Keep Mom Sane!
We are headed back to school next week. It got me thinking of what we can do to be successful at this whole school thing. Besides the basic homework and getting enough sleep. Because I have had kids leave the house in tears and I want to go pull them out of class and give them a hug (or text them a message, thank goodness for the Gizmo Gadget, anyone's kids have one of those? Best thing ever!) I can typically relate it back to the fact that we were not prepared. So I shared three of my little back to school tips that have kept me sane and also made getting to school on time a lot easier with ... Read More
Small Bathroom Ideas and Solutions in our Tiny Cape
If you are a reader here you know that our house is 1100 square feet. We consider ourselves lucky to have two bathrooms, a lot of the capes in our area and the ones we looked at before buying our home only had one bathroom. Funny how you can change your perspective from not feeling like you have enough room to gratitude when you look at the positive. Although our bathrooms are small I have grown to appreciate them and learned how to make the most of all of our small spaces. We used to have three bathrooms in our Utah home and they were all pretty big. So we have had to learn to find clever ... Read More
Home Tour- Hawkes Landing most Gorgeous White Kitchen
I think that this home I am sharing today is my favorite that I have ever shared and also my favorite home on Instagram. Melinda from Hawkes Landing did such an amazing job of adding charm to a brand new home. Although the house is painted in a bright white, it is not lacking in character. Their home feels eclectic and tells the story of their family. This is exactly what a home should do- tell the story of those who live in it. You are all going to love this home tour. The white kitchen is what dreams are made of and the girls shared bedroom...just too much to handle! Come and see what I ... Read More
