Oh boy. This basement has really seen some changes! It went from a dark basement to something light and bright. We made the windows larger and we also moved the stairs! The flow of the space works much better now. This basement is one of the favorite places to be in the house. I especially love this for our kids, friends and family. We didn't have a basement in our Connecticut home and while we really didn't miss having it in that house we knew we would want a big basement in Utah, with so much family and friends around. Basement Before- I loved that curved rock wall, it stayed, we ... Read More

Girls Dormer Teen Bedroom Makeover
One of my very best friends just moved into a new home, some of you will remember Laila from a few makeovers we have given to her- her boys shared bedroom, laundry room, pantry and eat-in dining. They moved for a better location to a 1990's home that needs some updating to match her families fun personality! When Walmart.com reached out to partner, Kevin and I decided to gift this makeover to her oldest daughter Naomi. Thank you Walmart.com for sponsoring this post Girls Pre-Teen Bedroom Before- Girls Pre-Teen Bedroom After- The bed is still yellow but went from a twin to a ... Read More
Friday Favorites- Console, Dining Table and Island Decor
Sharing some decor styling on a console, dining table and island today! Plus some of our favorite things we have gotten recently. We have this space in our family room that felt like it needed something. I was happy to have found the demi-lune console that works great in a high traffic space. Of course it got a plant and put it in a bust (I found local), the sun hits it perfectly each day for a few hours. As it was snowing outside this window I set up a simple spring table setting. I love decorating with glass jars, they look great all year, just by swapping out what's ... Read More
Butlers Pantry and Plant Room- Utah Ranch Home
The previous home owners had their washer and dryer in the room next to the kitchen, which is right off the garage. We decided we wanted our washer and dryer in our bedroom along with two other areas in our home. I just didn't want to have clothes out in a space that is heavily walked through, laundry can get crazy here and I didn't want everyone to see my underwear or a pile of dirty clothes as they came into the kitchen. Most importantly we really wanted a counter space we could use for kitchen overflow and for, well, my potting station for plants. Laundry Room/ Mud Room Before- ... Read More

Our Kitchen Plans
Finally sharing the plans for our kitchen! I started making calls to have cabinets made back in April. Most everyone was out 6-12 months. Busy season. I found one cabinet company that could make them in about 6 weeks, but they didn't offer some of the custom features we wanted. Thankfully I saw my friend sharing on Instagram her new bathroom and laundry room, I immediately called her reference and luckily he could fit us in! First, let me share what our kitchen space looks like today so you can visualize where everything will go! And for fun, let's look back and what the kitchen looked ... Read More
Picking Paint Colors for our 1970’s Remodel
I can't believe we are getting close to painting our 1970's Remodel! They are finishing up the mudding and taping, just in time for floors to be dropped off on Friday! They will start installing the wood floors next week. Then cabinets are after that. I had to get the paint colors picked for the cabinets and obviously walls. We created larger paint samples to help us decide on colors, thought I would share what we picked! I am always saving photos on Pinterest and Instagram of paint I like in rooms. Or, if I am looking for a new color, I will google "best white paint" or search a ... Read More
Mudroom and Pool Room to Solve Pool Towel Saga
We do have a basement in our Utah home. I haven't shared much of it…today I wanted to share our mudroom that has a basement entrance to our backyard, which leads right to the pool. It will be a great space for pool goers to access a bathroom, a place to grab towels, shower and grab a beverage. Figuring out the towel situation was probably the only annoying thing about having a pool…I know, first world problems. But having a pool in our previous home made me aware that towels need to be part of the pool plan!! Let me elaborate on the towels. One too many times kids would get out to the pool ... Read More
Our Tile Selections- How to Pick Tile- Where to Shop for Tile
Right now is the deadline to order all our tile for our remodel. As you can imagine, picking tile for an entire house takes a lot of time!!! We looked at a couple local tile shops and didn't see what we were looking for. So I went online and found a lot of great tile. We wanted a textured tile, that had a lot of character and charm. Most of the tile we selected is terracotta. Some of the tile is cement with a fun pattern. I have decided life is too short to not enjoy your home and personal style, whatever that might be! My biggest tip for selecting tile is to save images of rooms you like ... Read More
Cross Country RV Road Trip Where we Stopped East Coast to West Coast
After we had decided to sell our home and make the move back to Utah, I knew I wanted to make our return trip memorable. I had always wanted to take a cross country trip with the family and thought that this would be the perfect time! I was actually a bit hesitant on sharing my idea with Kevin, I didn't know if he would think the idea sounded crazy!! 60 hours driving in an RV with our 3 kids and puppy? That could scare anyone. Luckily he doesn't scare easily. He was onboard. I share in this post all the stops we made, how much it cost, if we would do it again and more!!!! Well, little ... Read More
