This week has flown by, with kids getting out early and today being a day off from school. I have been kind of in a funk lately. I think we are all our worst critics, it really is sad. Lately I want to change everything in our house. Then I self reflect and think do I just feel that way because I am a designer/blogger who is exposed to too much? I went to someones house last week and oh man it was BEYOND cute. Like I would move right in and be happy. It was big, new, white, on the beach, lots of ship lap, lots of charm. It put me in a mood after seeing it. I finally snapped out of it- but it ... Read More

Kitchen Details- What we keep on our kitchen counters
I just read that to be organized you "don't have to hide everything away." That is so true- having a few things handy out on our kitchen counters has been a huge time saver! Just find the best looking version of what you want out! I change what is on our kitchen counters about daily. Sometimes it is a little tweek here or there and other times it is a complete overhaul. A few things always stay. I took a couple of quick pics this past Sunday after my hubby gave me my Valentines presents because well he knows my favorite place to shop and knows my favorite place in the house to buy me something ... Valentine Day Cookie Exchange- Winner-Swedish Cream Wafers
For 15 years I worked in the same design store. I started when I was 15, I roller bladed to the interview and got the job (I will save the rest of the story for another time). For years we did the same thing on Valentines. We would have a cookie exchange. With a group of talented, creative designers you know it was a good cookie exchange. We had the added pressure of knowing our cookies would be judged by our warehouse moving guys. They were such fun judges- they would come up with awards for everyone, like- "crunchiest" "best packaging" "most unique" so everyone went home winners. But not ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Sweet Potato Crust
I posted on my Instagram account the other day that I made all our meals for the entire week after a couple episodes of Gilmore Girls (just started that series on Netflix and like it!). I tried something new in my baking craze. I had been wanting to try sweet potato pie crust for some time now. Who am I kidding, if it involves a sweet potato I want to try it. We make a frittata about once a week either for dinner or for breakfast. I love it because it is full of healthy veggies and protein. I liked the idea of making it into a quiche with a crust and honestly it was just as fast to make or ... Read More
Valentine Dinner with a Raclette
Have you ever heard of a Raclette? Or Raclette cheese? Well if no, then you were in the same boat as me. I have heard about a Raclette from three separate people in the past 6 months. I went to bookclub last month and the host served dinner on a Raclette. It was SO much fun! I kept thinking how great this would be for a Valentine dinner. At bookclub we all sat around the table and cooked veggies and sausage over THIS Raclette grill. We discussed the book and cooked. I loved that she passed around a simple salad to start out the meal before all the food was cooked. So I made the same meal ... Read More
Candy Christmas Wreath
Christmas started here because of this red vintage 4. My new found friend Annie from Most Lovely Things (who I met via Instagram and realized we lived close to each other) gave it to me the other day when I had lunch at her home, she is extremely thoughtful. She has the same vintage sign in her kitchen. The other side is a 5, I will switch it when we add our little addition in May! I love the red with my black and white tile. What other color says Christmas like the color red? I have several red Christmas accessories and dishes, I am happy I have a spot to put them. I ... Read More
Cadbury Girls Room
This is my oldest daughters bedroom. I love to mix in vintage pieces, like the pink door knob and oval dress artwork that was passed down from my Grandma. I do like to use new bedding and splurge on nice pillows always filled with down. I occasionally will make things. I was searching for THIS pillow from Target and couldn't find it in stock anywhere so decided to make it. A lot of times you can make pillows if you have great quality fabric. I made the map artwork. I had a gallery wrapped painting I didn't want anymore. I decided to paint it cream with leftover ... Read More
