My mother-in-law and her husband (Kevin's step dad) are moving into a new home this month! They have been in the building process for about a year and a half, so they are very excited to be at the finish-line. We live about 30 minutes from their new home. Close enough to help them with all the finishing touches. She likes a modern design style for the bones of the house, but her decor can lean more eclectic, with a mix of traditional. Today I am sharing her guest room that has a queen bed with the coziest bedding and a "wow factor" wallpaper that reminds me of their favorite place to travel, ... Read More

Are you a fan of Chai Tea?? I am! MY mom made this Bengal Tea drink last fall for our October Fest and we were all in LOVE!!!! It tastes a lot like a Chai Tea, but no caffeine. So good. She saw the recipe on Abi Ayres Instagram. And now we make it all the time. I actually get asked about it often…. "what was that drink recipe again??" Hot Chocolate Recipe and Favorite Hot Cocoa Maker (Milk Steamer)
My kids are BIG fans of hot chocolate! We like to make our hot chocolate from scratch rather than a packet, it just tastes better! We use milk when we make hot chocolate instead of water, and we think the easiest way to make hot chocolate is with a milk steamer. We have had probably 4 different milk steamers and finally invested in a large one that can hold 20 oz of liquid. While I like hot cocoa with cocoa powder, my kids aren't fans of the taste, they say it tastes too rich and more dark chocolate tasting to them. I am sharing how my kids LOVE to make hot chocolate with chocolate chips! Also ... Read More
Christmas in our Basement- Where Christmas Morning Happens
I almost didn't share these photos of our basement. Our basement is hard to photograph since it doesn't get a lot of natural light, so I don't always love the photos, even tho I adore it in person. The Christmas decor and lights, make it extra magical down here, so I thought I would share it anyways, and hopefully it will give you ideas for your home, or just give you a cozy warm feeling! Our basement is actually where Christmas morning happens, all the presents are around this tree. And we host our family parties down here, because it has the most seating and the kids can play games while ... Read More
Why you Need a French Butter Crock (Butter Nest) instead of a Butter Dish
I shared last week my obsession with a French Butter Dish or French Butter Crock on my social media. All the Nesters are now calling them a Butter Nest! Cutest name ever!!!! They are also called a Butter Keeper or just Butter Crock. I put together the BEST French Butter Crocks on the market in this post! The idea of keeping butter in a crock container that is shaped like a bell dates back to the 16th century. My friend Laila was the first to tell me about a French Butter Crock, and after she told me about it, I had to have one! Not only do they keep your butter looking nice, (insert photo of ... Read More

Holiday Punch and Gingerbread House Contest
We have a tradition of hosting a Gingerbread House Contest every year. We have done it for about 10 years now! We use to decorate the Gingerbread houses on Thanksgiving, after we ate dinner. One year I even made the gingerbread houses for everyone from scratch, that was a lot of work, but it sure made our house smell yummy! Now we buy the gingerbread houses and decorate them on it's own Gingerbread House Holiday Party. Sharing the gingerbread houses I bought this year. And also sharing a favorite Holiday Punch you will want to make at your next holiday party with a free printable! Thank you ... Read More
Holiday and Winter Front Porch 2022
We brought Christmas to our front porch for the Holidays! And this look will carry over nicely through the winter. This year feels a little more classic Christmas with greens and the glow of white Christmas lights. Plus my new favorite yard decor (bye bye giants skeletons) the cutest rattan reindeer! We have a lot of potted greens that get moved around the yard, I like the tall pine trees mixed in to feel more like Christmas, then I usually string lights on them for an extra festive look. Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post Holiday Front Porch- ... Read More
