6 Creative Ways to Use Baskets- Holiday Ideas

I love baskets!! There are so many ways you can put a basket to good use. Baskets that are thrifted, gifted or brand new serve as both functional and decorative! Plus, they can be repurposed over and over. I rounded up a few creative ways that I use baskets, from holding a Christmas tree, stair storage, front door decor and more! Keep reading for all the fun ideas!

#1- Stair Basket to Catch All

The purpose of a stair basket is for a place to put all of the items lying around the house that need to go either up or down stairs. The basket usually has handles so you can easily take it up and down the stairs. Or my girls just grab out their things as they walk upstairs. Stair baskets come in handy every single day as I find shoes or little trinkets left behind from the girls.

#2- Strong Basket for Organizing

I love baskets to organize things and ensure everything has a designated spot to live. These square baskets are my favorite because they have a metal frame, strong to hold a lot of stuff! From toys to random cords and chargers, using a basket can keep all sorts of items put away and the house tidy. Baskets are great because they look esthetically pleasing too! I filled our office glass cabinet with these square baskets, keeps the cabinet from looking too cluttered!
I used the same metal frame baskets on our open shelves for pantry storage.

#3- Basket for Plants

You all know how I love to finish off a space with a houseplant. Adding a plant is one of the best ways to add life and make your space more inviting and cozy. A basket is a great option instead of a typical planter, just make sure to put a plant liner under the plant to keep the basket and surface from getting ruined. These baskets come in a set, I love the open weave style.

#4- Basket for Christmas Tree

I love how clean and contained a Christmas tree looks in a basket. It adds a natural element! This tall dark basket is a unique style, and I love this Christmas tree in it. #5- Basket for Gifts

Gift baskets are great because the baskets themselves are such kind and useful gift. I like using a basket for a gift because it showcases what is inside so beautifully. A puzzle, blanket and treat are a great Christmas gift basket.

#6- Basket Instead of a Wreath

Instead of hanging a wreath on your front door, you could use a narrow basket instead! I used a command hook to hang mine. Cut some clipping of greens from your yard or go to a nearby Christmas Tree lot and ask for their discarded cut tree branches. The clippings will be a cute addition to your basket. You can add ribbon or bells for an extra festive look!
