Sooooo we got a new oval dining table. I shared in January we had replaced our round dining table with an oval table to get more seating. Fast forward to about a month after getting this oval table it started to show signs of warping, the veneer was peeling off (I updated that blog post too). I called and asked to send it back. Then I randomly met on of your husbands at a high school event for my niece, and he told me he makes custom furniture and cabinets! So I asked if I could have him make a table for us…

Luckily I was able to return this table without any issues (I am linking it, but our situation could have been a fluke and not great for Utah weather). We just got our custom table, that ended up being the same price as the one I bought (and returned) online. Kevin Bills Studio built our new custom table. I LOVE the custom table because chairs can fit around the pedestal. That pedestal is gorgeous!
Dining Room Sources-

Ceiling Paint Kittiwake from Farrow & Ball // Chandelier // Zag Square Wallpaper (ordered this for here!)
Green Dress Lady // Portrait with Blue // Face // Low Radish Bowl // Candleabra // Decorative Bowl
Arch Cabinet (mine no longer available, similar HERE) // Small Marble Table // Bust Planter
Velvet Banquette // Lumbar Pillows // Similar Table // Swan Chair // Green Slipcover Chair // Scallop Rug

I sent Kevin this table as my inspiration photo, but our table is 45″x120″. We had it made a little wider and a little longer.

The size works perfect with our velvet gold banquette! I layered these pillows incase someone has shorter legs, and needs to be boosted a little closer.

Now we are trying to decide on the dining chairs. I have this Swan Chair and LOVE it! But it is heavy, and would only want as captain chairs. I got the white chairs from Karen, one of you! She reached out and asked if I wanted to buy the chairs for a makeover. I told her I might actually use them for myself! I have always loved the chairs, the scallop detail is so fun. The chairs are originally Redford House but not sold anymore, I know that company well, we used to sell them in the design store I was the manager and buyer for!

Question is, what color to paint the chairs? They came all white. And we sprayed them using this paint sprayer all three different colors wanting to see what we thought. See exactly what we used to paint the chairs HERE.

The colors are….Preference Red Farrow & Ball (the burgundy). Bancha Farrow & Ball (the green). Sulking Room Pink Farrow & Ball (the pink).

Or do we just use those for now until these green slipcover chairs arrive?? I like that everyone would have a cushion seat to sit and linger longer!

We did add this 24″ round marble table too as another place to sit when we host big dinner parties or gatherings. I put two of these stools (I already had) up to it and can really fit two more. Love that we can potentially seat 18-20 people in here!

HERE for how to paint furniture and top three things to use.

Oh for your home, definitely the green slip cover chairs. They would compliment the banquet perfectly as well as the beautiful table! The different color chairs I do like too rather then picking one color for all of them, but absolutely the green is the pick for me!
I like the green. Pulls in all of the plant love and the scalloped edging of your rug!
I love so many things about this room! The custom table turned out so well and glad you were able to keep the banquette. I actually love the 3 different dining chair colors together – before I read the post and I was just looking at the photo, it just looks like it’s supposed to be that way! I suppose if you were set on having 1 color, my vote would be the green. Personally I think you can’t go wrong here with any of those colors!
thank you so much!!!
I love your style! I vote for the colorful wooden chairs. It’s more eclectic and fun and most importantly way easier to clean than upholstered chairs.
