A Primary Bathroom with Room for a Vanity

My friend and neighbor, April, just finished remodeling her primary bathroom, and it turned out absolutely beautiful. Navy shower tiles, a dreamy clawfoot tub, a spacious double vanity. The kind of bathroom you walk into and instantly feel relaxed. Once everything was installed, I offered to help her with the finishing touches.

Adding Character With a Wallpaper Mural

The first thing we did was hang the wallpaper mural, and it instantly transformed the space. I love this design because it has so much personality on its own, you don’t need to add much else to the walls. It brings in warmth and depth, we both loved!
We also painted all the trim and doors Navy Masterpiece from Benjamin Moore, complimented the wallpaper mural nicely.

Finishing the Double Vanity

The double vanity is beautiful on its own, love the double sconce and dark trim mirror. but adding a few layered details really brought the space to life. (Mirrors were from Anthropologie).
I finished this area with a long, dark red and blue rug to warm things up, I love an unexpected pop of red in any room. On the counter, I styled a marble tray with elegant candle taper holders and a simple vase.
A beautiful portrait adds character, and on the wall between the two mirrors, we added a small shelf with a jade pathos plant. Plants always liven up a room and make a space feel fresh and lived-in.

Creating a Vanity Corner

In that same corner, a small vanity desk and chair felt like the perfect addition. Somewhere to sit, get ready, or just enjoy the space. It made the entire corner feel thoughtful and finished.

The window in the corner is larger, so in addition to the cafe curtains to the added longer curtain panels here. I went with these light colored panels, the ruffle and details add such a charming, feminine touch and balance the bold green trim beautifully. We finished the vanity desk with a gold mirror, marble trays to hold makeup and accessories, cordless table lamp for soft lighting and bust paired with a plant.
And we added another chair nearby in case her daughters want to join her. I love when a space invites connection!
We added a full-length mirror, I love the details on this one! A full-length mirror is both practical and perfect for visually opening up the space.

The Clawfoot Tub Retreat

On the opposite side of the bathroom, we layered the same rug in front of the clawfoot cast iron tub to tie everything together. I love a good bath, so we made this area extra cozy. All the windows have café curtains with these tension rods. They’re perfect for letting light in while still giving privacy. I always add extra panels so they look full and intentional. We hung them about halfway up the window and hemmed the panels for a custom fit.
We added a small side table with the same cordless lamp and a soap dish, plus has room to set down any other items you need nearby. Another side table with a beautiful planter pot and rubber tree plant.

With the wallpaper, layered curtains, and a cozy vanity setup, April’s bathroom now feels warm, personal, and complete. Like a little retreat inside her home! It’s amazing how a few soft layers and intentional details can take a new remodel and make it feel lived-in and loved!
