Basement Wet Bar-Yellow Backsplash and Yellow Stripe Wallpaper

When we bought this 1970’s ranch home half of the basement wasn’t finished. The part that was unfinished was by the walkout basement door. Which was a win because we wanted to add a wet bar that had easy access to the backyard and pool. We imagine playing outside, and or swimming and running down the steps to the pink fridge to get a beverage. Or a spot the kids and their friends could easily grab a treat while hanging out in the basement. Just recently we added wallpaper and it feels like our vision has really come to life!

I planned this wet bar around this Pink Smeg Fridge. I wanted to put a pink fridge in our Connecticut kitchen but in the end decided to stick with the classic white. I was so excited to have a space to put this cheerful piece in!

This is the stripe wallpaper we recently added, it really completed the space! And pairs so nice with the Saffron Subway Tile and Light Blue Paint on the doors and trim. Our ceilings in the basement are 8′ with not a lot of windows, so the vertical stripe and bright color was just what this area needed.
I wanted to add a floating shelf to display items we use in this space, and in an effort to keep it light and bright! I went with sconces that had an exposed light so it would brighten the entire space rather than just shine directly down on the shelf.
Anyone else love a floating shelf as much as me?! Great way to add some dimension to a room, and makes it easy to find what we need. Ella has already claimed the cute smeg appliances for college. We buy the cutest and yummiest candy here (NWG for 10% off). Create a charming and invited spot using thrifted ceramic bowls and glass jars filled with candy.
These might be my favorite faucets! Love the gold with that yellow tile behind. Can we just take a moment to check out how pretty this tile is up close. There are slight color variations (which I like) and I like how the edges look worn and vintage. So happy with how it turned out and how well it flows with the honeycomb tile in the pool room.

This wet bar is also in-between two guest bedrooms. A peak into the room with three twin beds. I love that if guests are thirsty or need a snack they don’t have to go all the way upstairs to get it.
We have a candy station in our basement, something fun friends and family can enjoy when they come over (and hopefully a fun memory of our home!), and it is part of the decor.
The view from our family room. The doors and trim color is Light Blue from Farrow and Ball. I found this decorative vent cover with some darling detail and painted it the same color!

You see this view when you walk into the pool room from the outside basement entrance. I hope this view screams “you’re welcome here! Let’s have some fun!”
