We were fortunate enough to have made some really great friends right when we moved to Connecticut in 2015. I met my friend Sarah at the Crossfit I go to, one of the best places to make new friends when moving to a new area along with church. Our kids are both the same age and we had a lot in common. They invited us to this beach house that they stay at every summer for a week in East Haven, Connecticut. It is about a 45 minute drive my my home. Last year when I went I was pleasantly surprised at how charming it was! I knew this year I would make sure to take the big camera to take some pictures to remember it and to share with all of you.
This “garage” is way more than a garage. It used to be a home and the current home owners of the beach house bought it and made it into a garage with a game room in the loft.
Isn’t this the most charming scene and just what you want to see when you pull up to a beach house? Complete with a shuffle board.
Cutest little shed that holds all the beach toys ad with great landscaping.
I love how they have seashells placed on the edge of every step as you walk to the front door.
After you pass through the small entry this retro kitchen smacks you in the face with cuteness as you walk in the front door. See?? This is why I brought my camera and spent a little time staging the dishes and accessories in the open cupboards.
The thing with the open cupboards your plastic container of peanut butter that is all dirty on the edges just doesn’t cut it sitting on the shelves. I found a basket and put the condiments and peanut butter in it, making it just a little more visually appealing. And moved some dishes around, grouping things a little bit. (while giving our friends a little show of my craziness;))
Check out the ceiling and the lighting, all so beachy.
I was losing light and wanted to spend time hanging out with everyone so I just got the kitchen and outside for now. I will have to share the rest another time…hopefully we are invited back next year (hint, hint).
This is the back of the house.
And a few steps…we are at the water.
Ella dared Nicholas to go in the water with his clothes on. Always a game of “truth or dare” with them.
I hope you enjoyed this charming beach house and retro kitchen as much as I did. You can see more of our beach and some fun sand castles HERE.
Hey girl- This house looks so cool! Love that kitchen!
I agree! Love the kitchen too!
those aqua appliances are swoon worthy!
I totally agree! Thanks friend for checking it out!
Is this a vacation rental by owner? If so, I’d love the link! Gorgeous home!
No, they just offer it to friends and family, very generous people!
I was just talking to my husband about a Nostalgia Brand White Old Fashion Refrigerator and then I come across your IG post. Thanks for sharing this has inspired me even more. The kitchen and all the other picture show her beautiful choices and personality ???
How fun if you got a retro fridge! I love them:)
This kitchen is my dream! Do you know the brand of those appliances?
I don’t remember… I have seen similar from “Big Chill”
