Today I am joining a huge group of talented bloggers that are inviting us into their home. This is not something I take lightly, it is a joy for me to peek into others lives and how they make their home a place they want to be and for their loved ones. I am going to share an almost complete Christmas Tour of our tiny cape in Connecticut! I had planned on having the front all decorated to share, but it didn’t happen, got too cold after Thanksgiving. So stay tuned for that!
If you are new to my blog, we are a family of 5 living in a small cape (1100 square feet) in Connecticut. We are a quick walk to our local beach and about an hour drive to New York City! We chose location over square footage. And right now we are in the process of adding on about 200 square feet to our kitchen and adding a master bathroom and closet.
Jennifer Rizzo is the host of this amazing Holiday Housewalk! It is an honor to be asked to join each year. Make sure to start on her blog HERE to start the home tours! If you came from Jeanne Oliver, wasn’t that such a treat?? I LOVE her work so much.
Christmas Home Decor Tour in our Tiny Cape-
Let’s start in the girls bedroom first! My 11 and 9 year old girls share this room. I think it is magical. The oldest wants her own room. But really at the end of the day, I think she is pretty happy and realizes how lucky she is to have a safe space. I really didn’t change much in here. On a recent blog post I shared 4 Christmas Decor Items that are a Must-Have! Really you just need some garland, lights and a tree and you can call it Christmas!
For this tour I really didn’t try to make everything perfect. I am super busy, as we all are. And I am trying to be more intentional with my time and focus. So if there is something weird in a corner or the bedding isn’t smooth, it is likely because we live here. The girls make their own beds every morning and I don’t like to touch them after they have put in the effort.
Finn is 3, and a little joy, but pretty wild at this age. He does play really well with his Paw Patrol and loves to look at books. So you might see those items mixed in this tour. We did give Finn a tree, as I have every year. I found it at Home Goods and it is a favorite!!! I have yet to come across something like it online.
I did find most of his ornaments at Home Goods- loved the Partridge in a Pear Tree Ornaments! And it got us on the topic of what that song really means when my mom was visiting. Google it.
Yep, there he goes.
Notice the Zebra head drawer knob, turned upside down, that bugs me. Moving on. You probably noticed we have a lot of real plants, I really don’t like to move them too much. So when Christmas Decor comes out I try to work with them and I think they always add life to a room.
Upstairs Family room that doubles as our guest room. I shared this space yesterday, but really didn’t capture a photo of the sofa, so here it is! Not much Christmas, but just turning on some battery operated candles is pretty magical, simple and feels different. Christmas should feel different.
Easy way to bring some Christmas in even with plants is to place a collection of ornaments on the soil of the plant! Treat it like a bowl displaying your ornaments!
This is the room you see right when you walk in our front door, our living room. I shared a full blog posts and Top 4 Christmas Decor Must-Haves!
Our little kitchen is right off of our living room. My favorite place to add Christmas Garland is around the sink! You can get all the details on how I mixed faux and real to create the garland and Shop our Christmas Kitchen look HERE.
I hope you enjoyed our Small Space Christmas Home Tour!!! Make sure to continue on the tour to one of my favorites Dear Lillie!!!

I’m wondering if you have a TV and where it is? I too live in a small home with a fireplace. We have the TV over the fireplace. I’m not crazy about it but I don’t like any other alternative.
