I have done this once before, sharing the answers to the most asked questions from the week. I noticed that I received a lot of the SAME questions this week and a lot of the questions were really great, as they always are! Let’s get right to it. The top questions came from our kitchen….one of my favorite spots to be.
Question- “Do you like your butcher block countertops?”
A- YES! We honestly do. We are going on three years of having them. My hubby has pointed out a couple spots that have gotten a little more wear. We could sand them and have them sealed. But I don’t think they need to anytime soon, maybe another year. I do have a blog post all about our Butcher Block Countertops and my review on them HERE
Question- “Where is your kitchen sink rug from?”
A–I just got this little kitchen sink rug! Love the fringe. You can find it HERE actually bought it for our bathroom upstairs and like it here too!
Question- “What is that plant by your kitchen sink?”
A- I called it a type of Ficus Tree- I thought maybe a “money tree” it is actually called a Benjamin Ficus. Does well in the light and low water. Find my blog post all about House Plants HERE and you can find the answer to the other question I get there too “How do you take care of your Fiddle Leaf Fig?”
Question- “Where do you get all your cutting boards in your kitchen?”
A- The two main cutting boards I get asked about are the ones with the leather straps, you can find those HERE.
Marble pastry cutting board that I have on top of my butcher block, you can find that HERE
Cutting board with wood and marble HERE
Largest Antique Round Cutting Board HERE
Question- “What kind of vacuum do you have?”
A- You might think this is an odd question! If you follow me on my Instagram Stories you see Finn vacuuming every so often (really all day everyday, I just don’t show as much as I could). Kevin just got me THIS little hand held vacuum for my Birthday. I have been wanting one again, we had an inexpensive one that died, it stopped taking a charge. So I am excited to have this nicer one! Our bigger vacuum is THIS one and I really love it. It has really good review too!
Question- “Where are your pillows from?”
A-I get the pillow question a lot. I have all of the new pillows I just got for our kitchen banquette HERE starting at $5! Yes- that black and white leaf pillows is only $5! Then you can find the other pillows have throughout our home there too.
In this room I get asked anytime I show this space “Where is your chalkboard from?” It was actually a broken mirror that I found on clearance and painted the back of the board in Chalkboard paint! Easy way to “make your own chalkboard”.
Question- “I want to start a blog, what advice do you have or help you can give?”
A- I am no expert. I have been blogging a little over two years now. One piece of advice I have is to be you! And remember that there is only one YOU that has your thoughts and perspective on whatever your blog platform is. Don’t try to be everyone else, because that has been done. A book that helped me was THIS one and THIS podcast. Also anytime I have enriching conversation or a discussion with others THAT helps me be a better blogger. We had book club the other night and we just discussed an article rather than a book. It was a nice change. We discussed an article on “Happiness”. Someone asked me to share the article- I actually didn’t love the article :/ you can find it HERE and see what you think! Or HERE are 21 articles on Happiness! Just talking to friends and seeing what they are interested in and enjoy from other blogs or my blog is a wonderful way that I grow too.
Question- “Your secretary desk is discontinued, do you know one like it?”
I have been on the hunt for you! I know a lot of you are bummed you didn’t get it! I did see THIS one that is kind of similar- small, white and great organization!
Question- “Where is your shower curtain from?”
A- I did a hair tutorial and had a lot of questions about the floral shower curtain from? Mine is discontinued but I found THIS one and THIS one that are similar. And that leads two to other questions that were asked at the same time….
Question- “Where is your mustard dress from?”
A- I was wearing a mustard dress when I did my hair tutorial and had a lot of requests to where it was from. It is close to 3 years old. I found a similar dress HERE (that I like more because of the pockets) or THIS one or THIS with the cute eyelets!!
Question- “How did you do that braid?”
A- I did a simple braid tutorial and I probably got close to 50 pictures from readers who tried this braid. It was so fun to see your cute faces. I almost didn’t share it, because you know, another way to be critiqued. But after seeing that so many appreciated it made it worth it. I uploaded the braid tutorial below! These video clips are taken from my Instagram Stories (not the best quality) but it gets the job done.
I always like when you do a post like this. I get nervous I’m asking you too many questions so I wait to see if someone else asks instead. Ha! Thank you!

I think the butcher block warms up your kitchen. I’ve had it on my island for years and it still looks good.
Thank you! I love it too!
Thanks for all the info. I love it when you share, but then unfortnuately (or fortunately) I shop :). Your hair is gorgeous too.
