I figured I would combine my Friday Favorites with Mother’s Day Gift Guide, because let’s face it these are my favorite things. If you don’t have a mother alive, I am sorry for that. And I am aware of you. If you are wanting to be a mother and are not yet, I am aware of you too. I know Mother’s Day can be a sensitive day. So hopefully this gift guide can just be some fun ideas of gifts for anyone or better yet, yourself!
My mom was just in town and we LOVE having her. She spends quality time with each of the kids and makes mounds of her crepes that the kids request as soon as she walks in the door. I have to share this story that is the perfect example of my empathetic, thoughtful, Christ-like mom. When she was flying out to see us she started talking to a younger guy. She noticed that his suitcase was broken and pointed it out, not knowing if it just happened and he didn’t notice. He said “ya, it was already broken and I tried to fix it, but can’t.” Then he told her that she could try to fix it if she wanted. She laughed (and was thinking, seriously? you think I could fix it if you tried??). After that interaction they made it onto the plane. He ended up sitting a row behind her. My mom had brought a sandwich to eat on the plane. She turned around to the guy and asked him if he wanted half of her sandwich?! He said, “Really? That would be so great!” he accepted half her sandwich and ate it right up.
I love this story because I would never even think to offer someone my sandwich. Would you? I would assume they would decline it. My mom said that she thought he would accept it because of the suitcase and assumed he maybe didn’t have a lot of money. Although, he could totally be the millionaire next store!
I think this Mothers Day Gift Guide is somewhat inspired by my mom and you will see why!
#1- Adopt a Plant Tee- – For the plant lovers. Who when they get a new plant they imagine what it is thinking on the car ride to it’s new home! (It fits true to size)
#2- Picnic Basket – To hold a S’mores Kit! I shared this on my Instagram stories. We keep all the yummy goodies along with matches, baby wipes and I have a oversized scarf for the colder nights! (See below where reader @jessicawoodford duplicated my idea right after I shared!) BTW those Smash Mallows are good! We tried THIS Churro but the Mint one tasted like soap!
#3- Custom Welcome Mat– “This is Us” how cute is that? And personalize it will make the perfect gift! I gave my mom THIS cat one.
#4- Custom Mother’s Ring-These rings are a fav!! Love the mixture of metals and that they stack.
#5- Natural Candle with Cotton Wick– I have been searching for natural candles that are phthalate free, paraffin free, lead free and dye free. This is the one and other scents too!

#8- Supergoop Sunscreen Kit I asked for favorite Sunscreen recommendations on Instagram and this one was by far the most recommended! I found this awesome kit too. I personally love the option of the setting mist that you can spray on to refresh your sunblock over your makeup! I also ordered Instant Mineral SPF 45 it is a loose powder SPF! Many said their Dermatologist recommended Neutrogena Ultra Sheet SPF 70.
#9- Nordic Ware Floral Pan-This was another reader favorite! And the floral design is the perfect Mother’s Day gift.

Your mom sounds like such a sweet, thoughtful person. Your story of her sharing her sandwich has inspired me to try and extend simple thoughtful gestures to strangers in the hope of making their day just a little easier. I have tried her bread recipe and my family and I loved it! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
