Today is our Wedding Anniversary! We went to NYC for the night and just got to do some of our favorite things. We stayed at the coolest place! Kevin booked it because he knew I would love the decor. I did. 100%. Thought it would be fun to share our favorite things and what I bought while we were out shopping and where I came home and put it!
We do get asked about our marriage on Instagram, asking for marriage tips we have. I feel silly because I don’t think we have anything special to share. I think we both respect each other and really just are trying to be good people. Both of us individually are driven people and don’t require much to want to help each other out. I remember reading a quote that said “What do we live for if not to make life easier for someone else.” That my friends is all we are trying to do. Not to get in each others way of achieving their dreams but to make it EASY! We are here to support and lift each other up. That is marriage to me. We will share more about our story soon and answer all your awesome fun questions!
NYC Overnighter-
We saw Hamilton on Broadway. Have you seen it? I loved it! I was actually worried I would love it as much as everyone else does, because I didn’t know what much about Hamilton walking into it. Kevin has been listening to the soundtrack for over a year and a half when it first came out. Ella our 10 year old loves the music too and was bugged she didn’t get to go with us. After watching I think we will take her for her birthday in January.
We stayed at 1 Hotel. It was soooooo so so beautiful! Totally my style. Natural materials. A lot of plants. Painted White Brick. Our room had a window seat. I wanted to move in. We ate breakfast in the hotel, which is a fantastic restaurant if you ever just want to go there for a meal.
I really want this plant!! I found out what it is with a new app called “Picture This- Plant Identifier”. The plant is a Dinner Plate Aralia!
We ate at Tao, it was very good! And grabbed cookies from Levain on our way home for the family. Always a must!

We shopped at Fishs Eddy. It had been awhile since I had been here! I have a slight passion for dishes and all little trinkets in the kitchen. Loved the bike prints, pink dishes, dog art and all the unique goodies.
We bought stuff! Obviously. I really try to only buy things that I actually have a place for. I will not buy something unless I know where it will go when it walks out of the store and home with me. As soon as I kissed my babies and had a free minute to unpack I put my new fun goodies right where I had envisioned. Literally took me 10 minutes because they already had a home before they walked in the door.
I knew this pink vase would be perfect for some clippings from my yard right on the middle of our table. I had moved things around last week for fall and our table was actually empty! Also found those black dish towels there too.
Love Finn photo bombing my photo. Do you spot the new black dining chairs? We really like them a lot! They are metal. So affordable. And comfortable. And they actually fit around this round table better. Any inch I can gain is HUGE in a small kitchen. Find the chairs HERE they come in white too! I really like the black for a fall change. I was thinking of spray painting the white ones I have, but decided that I might want to put the white back in the spring. We shall see!
And couldn’t turn down the Pink Glass Cake Stand (similar 6″) HERE. I also found a mint green one HERE and if you just want a white one HERE. I love to keep one by my sink with dish soap, hand soap and scrub brush.
The Bicycle art is perfect in Finn’s room! Especially since the changing pad is making it’s way out! Potty training has started and he is doing awesome.
I picked up the large hand from Fishes Eddy (if you saw my stories hopefully you can unsee the sign you saw 🙈). I knew it would be perfect for my necklaces! Find similar HERE
That’s all I got for you. The weather in CT is beautiful, in the 70’s! As soon as my girls get home we are going on a long bike ride and decorating our front porch for fall! Oh and I am going to start wallpapering my girls bedroom today. Happy Fall weekend to you.
As always you can Shop our Home HERE if you are interested in anything!

A few questions Brooke.
Do you write on the chalkboard in your kitchen? Also, I love the idea of soaps, scrub brush on the cake stand by the kitchen sink. I actually put a wood and marble one near my sink, but every time I push down on the top to get the soap out, it all tips. Do you just remove your soap from the stand to use?
Keep sharing!!! Love all of your ideas and advice!!
Thanks,
Lisa
We have written on the chalk board, but I always think it feels busy so I erase it after. haha
And my cake pedestals never tip….but the cake peds I use are about 6″ round. Maybe bigger tips?
Thank you!!
