I heard somewhere that an overhead light should only be turned on if you lost an earring! I totally agree. Overhead light can be so harsh, not very cozy or inviting. That is one thing I love about our 1950’s Cape is that there is hardly any overhead lighting, forcing everyone to switch on a lamp for light. I fell in love with THESE pendant lights and did not have a spot in the traditional sense of where a pendant light should go. Most pendant lights come without a plug so you have to have them hardwired and that can be very expensive if you don’t already have existing power to the spot you want it to go. To save money and be able to move the pendant light around or take it with us when we move we added a plug to the pendant. It was very easy.
All you need is a plug that you can find HERE that is under $2.
You can follow the instructions- but there really isn’t much explaining other than doing what we did in this picture. Split the two pieces of the cord and expose the wires to wrap around the screws. Pretty simple!
I love that you can easily brighten up a little corner of your home with a hanging light. Or use it on the side of your bed for something different instead of a table lamp.
I had a lot of questions on THESE pillows when I posted a picture on my Instagram page. I found some almost identical for about half of the price that I paid for mine, looks like they are on clearance now. Go find them HERE.

Hey girl great post! Love the light!
Just love the new pendant. Also, i’d never noticed before your teeny tiny curtain rails…. you don’t pull your curtains across then? Great idea. Absolutely love your house 🙂
