I did a book theme shower for one of my cousins. I loved getting books when I had babies and still love books as gifts to my girls. We can never have too many.
My sister is an amazing cupcake baker and made all of these cupcakes, keep reading to get her amazing recipe!
I bought an old nursery rhythm book at a second hand store and cut out a bunting banner to hang in several spots using mini clothes pins to attach it to the ribbon. I had a hard time cutting up a book, but I am cherishing it another way! I did the same thing with the music note bunting banner, I left this one up from Christmas!
“The Hungry Caterpillar” was easy with plain M&M’s and frosting for the whiskers.

For “You Are My Sunshine” we attached ribbon to a toothpick. It looked very sunny and was the easiest!
This is our newest favorite book-
“What do you do with an idea.”
I bought it for my daughter at Christmas. She picked it for me to read to her class for her Birthday in January, the class all loved it. I like to do a mini book discussion after we read a new book. I ask them what their favorite part was, if it is a book they would want to read again, how they can relate to it, and what they thought of the illustration.
Here are some of my daughters favorite books, because we are always looking for new great reads to check out at the Library or add to a wish list.
Fancy Nancy- any of them
Giraffes Can’t Dance
The Princess and The Pig
Dream Big Little Pig
Gigi Gods Little Princess
We are reading the Boxcar Children series together. I read them all when I was young. It has been so fun to re-read them, both my 7 year old and 4 year old love them.
“What do you do with an idea” is inspiring to me. It really brings tears to my eyes thinking of the possibilities that are ahead of my girls if they don’t stuff their ideas away from a lack of confidence.
I hope will not allow fear or what others think I should be doing or achieving interfere with my ideas.
