Our friend’s April and Matt, installed board and batten in their guest powder room about 3 years ago. They painted it a really pretty shade of green! She was stumped on what wallpaper to hang above it and had been looking for a while. When she finally found a wallpaper she loved, she showed me, and it was an immediate YES, then I asked if I could finish the room! Can’t wait to show you ways to make any bathroom feel complete.
Powder Bathroom Before-

This is the bathroom before, painted in Magnolia Home, Tranquility. We had the perfect starting off point!
Powder Bathroom After-

Powder Bathroom Plan-

Vintage Metal Light Sconce // Mirror // Vanity // Bird Wallpaper // Paint Color Tranquility // Mirrored Shelf
Profile Art // Butterfly Towel Hook // Hand Towel // Soap Pump // Vase // Vintage Runners
Wallpaper-

I love adding wallpaper to any space, and a powder bathroom is always a fun place for a pop of personality! Hanging wallpaper gives the space a transformative effect! Making the walls works of art. All the sudden the room feels complete. After we applied this pink, pretty bird wallpaper, the room definitely felt transformed. The colors matched perfect with the green board and batten. Took us about two hours to install!
Mirror and Light-

It is really hard to take photos in a bathroom with no natural light (I finally ordered some lights to use in the future!). Hopefully you can see how pretty this Sconce from Amazon is, I loved how it matched the vibe of the wallpaper. The mirror I had, old Target but really love the wood tone with the wallpaper.
Painted Vanity-

The vanity before was a gray color, it was competing with the color on the walls. So we opted to paint the vanity in a white, we did Simply White. The paint we used was Benjamin Moore Advance, Interior Waterborne Alkyd in Semi-Gloss. This paint is great because it cures to a hard, furniture-quality finish. Then we used this polyurethane to seal it. We kept the same hardware they had, it matched the faucet and worked great.
Custom Towel Hooks-

I personally love using towel hooks instead of towel bars. They take up less space but also give a more custom look. The details on this butterfly towel hook perfectly complement the pretty wallpaper. We hung this hand towel on it. Also added a diffuser, my favorite place for a diffuser is in a bathroom!!! No fear of open flame and artificial fragrance (find my favorites HERE).
Vintage Runners-

I’m a fan of using rugs in any space. It contributes to the space feeling warm and welcoming. Adding a rug to your bathroom will help finish the look by adding color and texture. Plus who doesn’t love to feel something soft under your feet. I shop for vintage rugs HERE, you won’t find duplicates of any, and come in unique sizes, that can be hard to find just anywhere.
Accessories-

Some are necessities, like soap dispensers, trash cans, toilet paper holders, and hampers. Though these essentials aren’t as fun as vintage rugs and art , they are crucial for a tidy bathroom. So I like to pick the cutest option! I used this vase as a statement piece with cut branches from their yard.

I layered this art “she found herself in the wild” over the board and batten and wallpaper to tie them together, notice the birds in her hair!!! Also hung this simple shelf with DIY room spray and essential oils for the diffuser!

I hope that gave you ideas for your bathroom! Keep reading and check out our recent wallpaper install in our primary bathroom HERE.

Oh my gosh – could that wallpaper be any better with the colour on the board and batten? Gorgeous.
