Star Blue Bathroom- Utah Ranch Home

Sharing our basement guest bathroom today! I actually envision this bathroom one day possibly being Finn’s bathroom when he doesn’t want his room right by his parents, hopefully he always wants to be by us! For now it is attached to the triplet guest bedroom, which has a lot of fun colors, I wanted the bathroom to play off that colorful room.

Star Guest Room Plans-

First I always do a deign plan before I paint or buy anything. This helps me to visualize it!

Star Bathroom Before Painting-

We really like the fun tile in this bathroom! I lean towards a whimsical design style, always picking something with character and personality when I can! The white walls did make the stars pop, but it just felt like it needed some color, and that could be because there isn’t a window in the bathroom. So we went with a blue, bringing the sky to the room.

The after! I like how the blue really plays off the slate shower, it instantly felt complete! The paint we picked was Dutch Tile Blue from Sherwin Williams. We did paint the ceiling too, which I like to do in a small space and one that has beams that cut into the wall like this one has.

Our cabinet was custom built by Innovative Cabinetry Design. Counters are Granite, called Iron Black.

The faucet we decided to do a wall mounted with the counters as a back splash. I also carried it around to the side.

The Star Cement Tile did give me somewhat of a headache. I did not notice the star design had two different patterns. Nor did the tile installers ask if I wanted a pattern or all running the same way. When tile is directional it has an arrow on the back of it, so I can see why they didn’t confirm if they are used to seeing that. I don’t mind the randomness of it. But I want to make sure you are aware if you use it! Also this tile is hard to keep clean, it. needs to be sealed and a specific type of grout (which our tile installers didn’t use).

Vintage rugs are my favorite, full of character and uniqueness. I do toss mine in the washing machine on gentle cycle, and hang to dry. Or just spot clean as needed. I find all my vintage rugs HERE.
