Narrow Bench instead of TV Console- Frame TV Art

There are no rules to design. 99% of the time I believe there is a rug rule, but I have seen it broken with vintage rugs, and it seems to work. Home Design is a form of art. Home should be a reflection those who live there, and it should work for those who live there. Maybe you have dance parties every night and don’t want a coffee table, don’t have one! Sharing how we opted for a bench rather than a traditional TV console.

For us we have no need for a traditional TV console. We need places to sit, rather than places to store things. We opted to do a bench under our Frame TV for more seating. That is the beauty of a Frame TV, it hangs on the wall as art, so you can put anything you want under it!

We have a really long narrow family room. I loved the idea of creating a large circle for conversation and games. A bench along the wall under the TV is perfect for that!

This is what we had before. We are going to take this old church pew to our cabin! We still have the baskets under our new bench, they are just hidden now.

Frame TV-

We have been SO happy with our Frame TV, we have them in multiple places. I love that they look like art, and they can hang anywhere, no need for a traditional console. We did add a Gold Frame to ours, I have seen people DIY frames too! Below I have different Frame TV art options, some are free!

How to add art or a photo to the Frame TV-

  • First you need to edit your art or photo to 3840 x 2160 (all the art here is already adjusted)
  • Download the SmartThing App and connect your TV to the app (free app)
  • Select “art mode”
  • Add your photos
  • Select “no mat”
  • Then hit “set”
  • Watch it appear on your TV!
  • PS- if this doesn’t work, I am not a tech wizard, google might be of some help, but instructions above worked for me!
