Nesting With Grace

A Room Swap, a Dinner Party, and a Collaboration Celebration

About a year ago, I had this little idea: What if the dining table lived in the same room as the kitchen? What if, just maybe, I swapped the dining room and the family room entirely? It was one of those ideas that lingered in the back of my mind. Then, last month, as I started planning a dinner party, the idea picked up and before I knew it, it was happening. The rooms were swapped, the table was set, and I love how it turned out.

It turned out to be the perfect setting to celebrate something really special, my Nesting With Grace collaboration with Anthropologie. I hosted a dinner party to mark the occasion, a way to share the new icon cups and vases I designed. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to unveil these pieces than in a renewed space!

One piece that really sparked my excitement for the room swap was this new brown striped cabinet. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was going to be a focal point. And honestly, it helped me fully commit to the change. Garland // LightOrbs

I use it to store all the essentials I want close at hand, serving pieces, extra linens, and those go-to items I always reach for when hosting.

During the dinner party, it also doubled as a serving station. Not to mention it looked beautiful layered with accessories. I really love mixing old with new, function with personality, it’s really what makes a space feel like home.

Now, as you walk into the room, your eye is drawn to the cabinet. It makes the dining area feel so much more intentional and designed. Sometimes all it takes is one piece to shift your perspective.

Yummy, easy dinner with our favorite Holiday Punch.

The mix of texture, print, and shape made everything feel so special without being overly formal. Ella hand painted these menu cards and monogramed framed place settings…I am obsessed!

The new vases from my collection were scattered down the center, filled with flowers my favorite florist put together. Loved the softness and color.

My girls were such a big help setting everything up! Cuties wearing their crowns from the party crackers.

I put together these topics to discuss! It was actually so fun, we even discussed at a family party the following week. I just asked “Do you care about x” and read one of the topics. If they cared they raised their hand, it was fun to then discuss further about why we care or why we don’t care!

Another change that made a big impact? Our new dining chairs with burgundy ruffle slipcovers. Not only are they beautiful, but they’re also practical, easy to clean, and ideal for a home where we actually live and gather often. Each chair had a custom pink NWG crew sweatshirt for a gift.

Above the table, I hung giant star pendant lights and they completely transformed the room.

They brought in this soft, ambient glow that made the whole dinner feel magical.

The best part? Seeing everyone gathered around the table in this new space, enjoying the food, good conversation and laughing. It confirmed that swapping the rooms was the right move, it just works. The flow from kitchen to table is so natural now.

My sisters, mom, grandma, my girls, and closest friends… all in their custom sweatshirts I made just for them.
