Fall Front Porch and Favorite Finds 2025

The leaves are changing here in our Utah mountains, and the mornings have that crisp chill that makes you reach for a sweater and a warm drink. It feels like the perfect time to cozy up our space for fall, starting with a few subtle spooky vibes to the front porch for the upcoming October gatherings we’re hosting. Whether you’re decorating for the season, prepping for Halloween parties, I hope this post gives you a little inspiration to make your space feel like fall too.

Fall Front Porch-

To start, we added layers of autumn cedar garland to frame our front entry. We screwed in a couple of ceiling hooks above the doorway, then hung three strands of orange garland as the base layer. Once that was in place, I added the black cascading garland with LED lights for a soft glowing effect in the evenings.
To finish off the look, we added two pre-lit broomsticks crossed at the top of the entryway, like a little nod to witchy folklore. Hanging just beneath them are black rattan bats, looking like they’re ready to take flight. It adds the perfect touch of spooky charm without being over the top!
Along the path, we mixed in different colors and shapes of pumpkins.
A lot of my green topiaries still look great, so I decided to leave them in place, I just love the pop of green, especially against all the warm fall tones. To bring in a touch of seasonal color, I added some deep purple mums in these giant pots are actually new this year, and I love how big they are. A simple concrete jar pot to bring in the darker moody vibe of Halloween.
All the lights gave everything such a cozy glow, not so spooky! It instantly made the whole space feel festive and welcoming.

Pumpkin Spray-

This spray is a must! I wasn’t quick enough and some deer got ahold of my new pumpkins. This DIY is super easy to whip up and will deter critters and animals!
Make this spray to keep critters away and extend your pumpkin life! I love that the same household cleaner we use to clean our floors, mirrors, counters, upholstery, etc can also be used for our fall porch!

PUMPKIN LIFE SPRAY
+16 OZ SPRAY BOTTLE
+20 DROPS TEA TREE
+20 DROPS PEPPERMINT
+2 TBSP THIEVES CONCENTRATE
+WATER
Fill spray bottle with oils and concentrate then fill the rest of the
spray bottle with water. Spray on pumpkins to keep critters away
and increase their life! Spray weekly and after rain.
