Below is what our bathroom looks like as of today! We have plumbing and electrical!!! Very exciting. Right now I am in the process of narrowing down our choices for vanity, lighting and tile. I already know we are doing a claw foot tub, but needed to know the rest! I thought I would share part of the decision making process.
Inspiration Photo-
I ALWAYS find an inspiration photo. I don’t go looking for a new photo, I just look back at photos I have saved and look for a common theme. And one thing I noticed about bathrooms is I always save bathroom photos with a clawfoot tub and lots of tile. The below photo I have had saved for about 6 years, and I still like it!
Also loved White Shanty bathroom (both are their bathrooms). I am going to have the base painted in a black too.
I shared the above photo on this blog post all about my inspiration. I still love it. It has helped me with decided on lighting, I didn’t realize that I had picked a photo with the sconces in-between the mirrors! But that is what I had ended up ordering- you can see below.
Love how fun and playful bathroom!! (Green Vanity source). And it is an example of two bulb sconces over each mirror. Helps to see it for my idea below…
I snapped this picture this morning. HIGHLY recommend ordering your sconce and mirror before they put in the electrical. Then you can hold it up and make sure you love it. My original plan was for the look on the right- sconce in the middle. Then I thought to try out the look on the left and I for sure didn’t like the ball sconce with the mirror.
So I put together another option below….
Design Board-
I want to do tile all over, like inspiration photo. And I do really like these black mirrors– with these Capiz Bulb Sconce. I had the electrician set it up so we could do one light in the middle or two on top. What one do you like?? Love to hear your thoughts!!! We also are doing this flush mount and a can light over the tub.
Vanity // Wall Tile // Double Sconce // Mirror // Flush Mount Light
Affordable Vanities-
Since I have been searching for a vanity, I put together some of my favorites. Super affordable and easy! I did find a dresser I loved and considered turning it into a vanity, but decided against it since there are so many that are ready to-go! I am leaning towards #2. What one is your favorite! I liked how #1 looks like our tv console in our upstairs family room!
1- Vanity with design // 2- Wood Base Vanity // 3- Espresso Vanity // 4- White Vanity Farm Sink // 5- Vanity with drawers // 6- Wood vanity with farmhouse sink // 7- Wood Vanity with drawers // 8- Navy Vanity
Are the bathroom vanities from Wayfaur? Or where?
Thanks
I linked them all under the vanity photo- just click on the name with the number. Some were from Wayfair
I recommend a light over each mirror, because of the lighting for your skin routine, putting on makeup and doing your hair. I have found I need more than lighting in the ceiling or just between the two mirrors. Just a thought!
I like both ideas!
I really like the Capiz Bulb Sconce as it brings so much character (and would probably be easier to clean!) If you want a little taste of fun add it in! If you think you’re going to have LOTS of patterned tile on the floor it may clash with the pattern on the Capiz Bulb Sconce sooooo there is that?
I like the option of the other sconce in the middle too, but would it give enough light out for your space?
I’m loving all the options for the vanities too!
EEP! Can’t wait to see it all done!

I just renovated my master bath and decided to go with a double scone in the middle of the mirrors instead of over each mirror. The reason is that if you put the lights over each mirror-it casts a shadow on your face while having the double scone in between the 2 mirrors does not. It’s better for applying makeup. I hope this helps. 🙂
Thank you!!! Great tip!!!
#1 is wonderful! So unique. I know you said you wanted wood tone thought. In that case, I would go with #2.
thank you!!!
If you go with vanity #2 what will you do with your flooring? I too am doing a bathroom remodel but because I am using an oak laminent vinyl on the floor I am considering a white vanity. It will be a bathroom/laundry combo off of my familyroom so the counter above the washer and dryer will be oak as well.
