This was our cozy family room on Cadbury Drive in Utah.
It was a small family room area so I had to maximize the space. A sectional is the best way to do that, no area is wasted. As you can see here my sectional extended past the wall, and that is ok to do. I made sure we had about 3 feet walking space between the kitchen island and sectional arm. Also using a large rug can make the space feel larger. With a sectional or a sofa and settee a good rule of thumb is to always use an 8×10. You can see my dining nook in the background (you can read more about that here ).
I had these canvas pictures made of my girls at Costco. They were both about 6 moths old. I love that Angie Seare captured them both in the same way. Makes me want to squeeze and cuddle those chubby faces every time I see them.
This painting is our favorite piece of art we own. I commissioned Mike Warren a local artist to paint a painting from a picture I took at the Zoo of my little family. I used to work with the artist’s wife, she is also a designer. Their home is a beautiful collection of his work. I can’t even describe the feeling that original personal artwork creates in their home, it I something I wish everyone to have an experience.
This was a gift for my husband one Christmas.
