Pop over to the blog to see how we installed the wood planks on the ceiling in our Home Makeover with Lowes. We had to hide that dated popcorn ceiling. This would also make a statement on a wall and much easier to install. Come take a look!

Happy Friday! You know that we moved away from Utah to Connecticut and we go back in the summer for several weeks to visit family and friends. I always get several emails or texts asking when I am coming and if I can schedule time to do some design work. My sister is always one of the firsts to ask and since she is one of my favorite people I make sure to fit her in. Pop over and see what this space looked like before our paint update and what her kitchen looks like now. She is loving the update- as she should!

I have blogged about our master bedroom more times than is probably “normal.” Every time that I have shared our master bedroom you have never seen the ceiling. It is always strategically cropped out. That is because I was hiding a secret. The ceiling was bad. But now is the day you get to see the ceiling in all it’s glory- be excited. And a new ceiling leads to new bedding- rug- lighting, you know the drill. Come see the big reveal.

Remember when I shared on THIS post that I get the privilege of working with one home owner for a Lowe’s Fall Makeover?? Lowe’s is such a great company to come up with this makeover idea. We have selected the home owner for this project and have contacted them. I am sorry if you were not selected and you took the time to apply. I would have loved to work with everyone who applied! Such great applications and such heart warming people and stories were shared. The project that was selected is a mudroom that has unfinished walls and in need of some organization for a growing loving family. Come see what is inspiring me for this project!

Ashley from House of Five recently made over her sons bedroom, and it stopped me in my tracks. I had to ask her to share it with us! I asked Ashley how she came up with the design idea for this darling “Americana” themed bedroom. I love the reason she chose this theme. Come see why it means so much to her and a complete list of sources.

We recently updated our upstairs family room with new wallpaper, lighting, rug and a barn track door. If you have been following my blog you know that our home is a 1200 square foot Cape in Connecticut. The previous home owners used this space as a master bedroom. When I was deciding how we would use the home I knew I couldn’t take a large room like this for our master bedroom. Now living in the home for over a year, I am completely happy with the decision to turn it into our family room, this room gets used a lot! It also doubles as a guest room. Before I show you the entire room I wanted to show you the before when the previous home owners lived there and so you can imagine it as a master bedroom…

I get asked often on my Instagram account if we own a TV. We actually do, we have one in our family room upstairs. They girls normally watch maybe a 20 minute show a day. We just aren’t in the habit of watching it. We love music on and creating. I thought I would share some of things my girls have been loving this past month and a few things I love too. Hopefully to inspire more creativity in the home and also great gift ideas.
