I am back to share more of our Connecticut Cape Home decked out for Christmas. I was thrilled to join Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for her group of talented bloggers. She sure does have loyal readers that say the kindest things! If you are following along the tour and came from Hymns and Verses welcome to my blog! I loved her fresh green touches and that start above her fireplace. I have been blogging for about a little over a year now and really enjoy being apart of home tours. I gain so much inspiration! Hopefully you take away some ideas for your home and are not discouraged or compare your home to the 30 other bloggers. Rather get ideas to go and clip some fresh pine or change something up in your home to get ready for hosting friends and family this Christmas season.
I feel a little bit like a broken record- I always want to tell everyone that our home is 1100 square feet before you look at photos, so you can gain some perspective. You can probably guess that it is small just by looking at the pictures. I already shared our main floor last week all decked out for Christmas. (I will link it at the end of this post). This room that I am sharing today is our family room that also doubles as a guest room…I should say triples as a play room too. In a small house- everything does double duty.
I got rid of a chair that was in this room- it was too short by the entertainment console. Once I got rid of that we had room for a slim full size Christmas tree this year! I found the perfect size tree HERE, from King of Christmas.
We just had family in town for Thanksgiving. They slept in this room and it was super cozy with the glow of the Christmas Tree lights.
This art was one of the first pieces of art I ever bought. I love so much about it- the glow of her face from the candle light- has so much meaning to me. It does remind me of Mary, perfect for this Christmas setting.
Behind our sleeper sofa is a little writing desk. I have been using it to write out Christmas cards while watching Christmas movies with my girls. Although I have some competition over using the desk- Ella, my oldest typically has her Lego’s set up on the desk. (More about our desk HERE).
I made a little spot for our Christmas cards this year. I shared all about our Christmas Cards on THIS post.
Finn is pretty fascinated with our new tree, it was pretty cute…until he starts pulling things off of it.
I grouped some of the green simple ornaments together to make them feel larger and make more of a statement. We also made THESE ornaments this year! We are going to use them on gift tags this year too.
This is our front room- I shared more pictures HERE.
I shared our master bedroom HERE last week- this is what it looks like at night with the lights glowing.
Our kitchen was shared HERE last week too. This is a different angle of our hardworking kitchen.
At our house things get moved around A LOT! Sometimes they last for a day or sometimes they last for 5 minutes. That is what happened below. I was bringing in our chairs from our patio to keep in our basement for winter and thought I would try them in our kitchen.
The red and white were kind of fun for Christmas- especially with a little sprig of pine attached to the back. But alas my husband didn’t like them as much as our others. You can see what it looks like now HERE.
Thank you for stopping by our little Cape in Connecticut. Make sure to check back on Thursday- I will be sharing my daughters shared bedroom then!
Make sure to follow along the Christmas Tour- starting again tomorrow with Cuckoo4Design! I love her bold sense of style- that is also so classic.

Oh goodness, your tree is so unique and gorgeous! My daughter only put decorations on the upper part of her tree to keep them out of her busy toddler’s reach, it looks hilarious! The greens on your headboard, swoon! Your home is beautiful!
I might have to do that with Finn next year! Luckily he can’t really reach much this year. Thank you for your sweet comment!
Simply beautiful! I love your kitchen! I noticed you sourced brick wallpaper, just wondering how you like it. Was thinking about trying it.
Thanks Diane- I love the wallpaper- it was so simple to apply. It is peel and stick. I wrote a blog post on tips for applying wallpaper here- http://nestingwithgrace.com/wallpapertips/
It looks beautiful. That room and your kitchen are my two favorite rooms in the house!
