Nesting With Grace

Ella Bedroom with Stripe Wallpaper, Shiplap Dormer Ceiling and Poster Gallery Wall

When we moved into this house three years ago we painted every wall white, I knew I would want to add color and wallpaper as inspiration came. We recently wallpapered Lola’s Bedroom, and after that I asked Ella “doesn’t this make you want to wallpaper your room too?”! Ella agreed, but wanted to keep her posters on the wall. Sharing her new stripe wallpaper and how we did her poster gallery wall with the wallpaper!

Ella’s Bedroom Before-

Her room was adorable as is, but all the painted trim was ready for wallpaper!

Here is the after! She loves it! We all love it! The ceiling is painted Setting Plaster from Farrow & Ball and it pairs perfectly with the new painterly stripe wallpaper (which was very easy to install, it is a nice quality wallpaper!).

It coordinates so well with her pink shiplap ceiling. It took us a couple hours to get the wallpaper up! Wallpapering with at least one other person makes the job so much more enjoyable. We also changed her window shade, with this fabric.

For Ella’s window, we covered her roman shade in light-weight fabric, I wanted it to match her window seat, I found the fabric HERE. Get all the details on the tutorial HERE. We did just add these curtain panels with Rick Rack on this gold curtain rod. Now it matches Lola’s bedroom from the outside.

I just adore how art and mirrors look so much better hanging on wallpaper. It is just the layer of pattern that brings things to life. Her floor mirror does look extra pretty!

Ella has this fun and colorful poster wall that we didn’t want to distract from, just make it stand out more! These are the posters we hung, added a few new!

Instead of frames, we hung the posters straight on the wall using double sided dot stickers (I put one in each corner- the dots didn’t damage our walls when we took them down to hang the wallpaper, the key is using a blow dryer to heat up the dots so they come off easier. But test an area before installing. Our posters are 19 ¾ X 27 ½.

I did get swap out her rug for this floral rug with bright colors to pull our colors from the rest of the room. It’s hand-knotted so it’s nice and thick!

We did switch up her bedding a bit, keeping her vintage quilt and black and white shams. Ella had saved images of beds with gingham bedding….

We found this gingham sheet set and painted it with matching blue gingham duvet cover with our favorite fluffy duvet insert.

She has had this blue nightstand for a while, I added the lamp shade (older) to a lamp I already had.

She has this tall ceramic diffuser here with some of her favorite essential oils in her nightstand.

Her gorgeous hand made light pulls in the navy accents in her posters, and compliments her painted ceiling. I would say if you want to make a big impact, make it with lights! You get the most bang for your buck.

We didn’t change much to her built-ins. We have new and thrifted colorful books as her art. And this fun floral record player.

I love lamps in bookcases! This one is older but all my favorite lamps here!

Another diffuser by the window. You don’t need two for a bedroom but we just love them and seeing the mist by a window, so relaxing! I had this disco ball diffuser and it stopped working so we just set the top over a one we had. Works great!

On the other side, she has her desk and get ready station.

Ella likes this calendar dry erase to keep organized and this vanity mirror for getting ready.

Excited to decorate her bedroom for Christmas! Ella loves the changes to her room!
