I shared our piano set-up yesterday and wanted to share a closer look at our Christmas tree in here! Our fireplace is the star of the show in this room. I started with a lot of garland on the mantel, and layered decor with it, a collection of trees mostly and boxwood topiaries. Sharing all the details here!
We did get a new Christmas tree in this room. Our previous tree had lights that didn’t work in the center, and we had gotten a full credit on it, my sister in-law asked if we had any trees we weren’t using so we passed that to her. We ordered this downswept Christmas Tree. We love it! I like how the branches look a little heavy from snow. Plus we have to do a slim Christmas Tree in our family room and the fit is great!
We did mix cedar garland with a lightly flocked tree, I personally love to mix the two and think it works!
We also have a smaller downswept Christmas Tree in our entry. I try to tell a story as you walk through our home.
On the Christmas Tree I tied a lot of bows and ribbons. Brown velvet, Green Velvet and Gold Crushed Velvet Ribbon. Layered this blue ornament garland, with this beaded wood garland. Also these mushroom clips are a favorite, along with these wood ornaments that pull in the wood on the mantel. And always these clip-on candle lights!
I put this small accent table in front of our tree, with our wood nativity (similar HERE), the real star of the show.
On the mantel I layered 10-12 (I lost count!) pieces of garland, most of it is the 6′ Cedar Garland Evergreen Garland and some of this 6′ Snowy Garland. I put three nails into the wood, you don’t even see the holes after, really nails are the only thing that will keep all this garland in place! And after Thanksgiving I added a strand of these drop berry lights and a strand of the wood beaded garland.
Love searching out wood trees to add to our collection! I like how grouping similar objects, makes a big impact rather than feeling cluttered, go big! Also we had the boxwood topiaries outside on our patio, wanted to bring them in for the winter, and love the boxwoods mixed with the faux cedar.
I knew I was getting this Shepard art reproduction (use code nesting15 for 15% off) and wanted everything around it to match the feel and colors of the art.
Peonies Art // Rose with Green // Christmas Tree // Llama (thrifted) // Fruit Art // Gold frame (thrifted) Scallop Wall Sconce // Frame TV // THIS Frame // Frame TV (you can get it free, HERE!)
We had Better Homes and Gardens coming to take photos of our house last week. I asked Lindsay, for art for my TV that went with my new favorite piece of art from Lindsay, The Shepard, which is a vintage reproduction. She came up with the Tapestry art for our Frame TV (you can get it free, HERE!)
I found that sweet Christmas Tree art at our local art market, love mini art! Also has the navy and gold tones that fit our space perfectly. Hung this Scallop Wall Sconce recently over our piano, and adore it.
The main goal in our family room (really everywhere) is cozy, so I added extra throw blankets, and this looped tree pillow.
We always bring out a stack of Christmas books, we love the memories they bring back and the joy of taking time to snuggle up to read them. We have Christmas break for our kids starting next week and this is our goal, lots of time slowing down to savor the season.
