Favorite Things- Lamp Love

I read a quote a long time ago, and at this point I have taken it on as my own, I say it enough, “An overhead light should only be turned on when you are searching for a lost earring.” Overhead lights can sometimes feel too harsh, a big reason we have a dimmer switch on all our overhead lights! Lamps are one of my favorite pieces of decor. If I had to choose only one item to go on a side table, console, entry table, piano, nightstand, I will always pick a statement lamp! They not only look great, but add such a cozy feeling that can’t be created any other way. I rounded up some of my personal favorite lamps below! Bonus, you can see them all in our home too! PS- these are my favorite lightbulb for lamps !!!!

Lamps in our Home-

This lamp is a really nice quality lamp! We chose to do lamps in our office instead of lots of can lights. I actually just swapped lamps in here. I gave those lamps to my mother in law for their bedroom. And did a taller lamp in here.

I have been on the hunt for a lamp for our piano for awhile now. I wanted a patterned lamp shade and happily find this, Plaid Task Lamp.
I bought a couple of these smaller scale lamps to mix throughout our home. They are miniature and so cute! An unexpected spot for a lamp is in a bookcase, or kitchen counter, instantly feels like a cozy cottage.
I put one of the small lamps in my in-laws small sitting room bookcase, love how it looks!
We drilled a hole in the back of these bookcase so we could fit a mini lamp in here, couldn’t make me happier!!!
I repeated the same lamp on our counter, it is not a cheap lamp, you could easily do this mini lamp in a kitchen!
We had our Audrey Ficus tree in this spot, between our sofa and fireplace. I had to move the tree because it was getting too big and it would get too hot when the fire was on. Replaced the tree with this Floor Lamp with Pleated Shade. LOVE the shape of it.
 I just added a lamp to our tv console in our family room, don’t know why I didn’t do that before! It really completed this corner and adds the nicest glow.
Our basement doesn’t get a lot of natural light. So I brought in this Arched Floor Lamp and put a grow light bulb in it. Not only does it offer nice accent lighting, but helps my plants!
The girls both have a little lamp by their desk. We had to drill another hole here to get the cord to come out the back and plug—in, worth it!
Entry table I found a way to plug-in this little lamp around the corner of the rock wall. I did have the magic light trick for this lamp previously and it worked great!
Our nightstand lamps aren’t available anymore, but this large ceramic lamp is and on sale! I love the scale next to a king bed.
And don’t forget to look for second hand lamps! I found that amazing lamp at a local shop, it is my favorite!! This Nordic Ceramic Lamp with Pleated Shade is a really similar look!
I found that gold lamp while vintage shopping. Then found this lamp shade to complete the look! I linked other lamp shades below…

Target Bedding- Affordable Bedding Option & Target Favorites
I personally don’t think there is a rule for nightstands, you really can make anything work! Need it taller? Stack books underneath it. In my sisters bedroom makeover, they do have a king bed, but I did smaller scale lamps. Her nightstands are not the same, one is small on the opposite side. We used two of these Faux Wood Table Lamps and looked beautiful!

Hope that inspired you to never turn on an overhead light! Just kidding, kind of.
