I really enjoy sharing little changes we make to our little cape and how we live as a family of 5 in 1100 square feet. Before starting this blogging journey. I worked for a design firm in Utah (for those that are new to my blog). I managed a high-end design store that offered design services too. I really loved it. I would go to design markets and spend over 100k in new product for the store. It was fun spending someone else’s money and with a big budget:)
Honestly I thought I would never leave that job. So when the opportunity came for us to move our little family to Connecticut and give my husband a turn at being the big bread winner I was all for it. And not to mention the exposure to a different life outside of our bubble.
I still do offer design services. I am helping a few clients via email and also those who find me from my blog and word of mouth, local and all over.
I would love to GIVEAWAY a mini E-design Consult and a $50 Target Gift Card (*closed, winner announced below)
You can send me pictures of a room you want some advice on. Or maybe you need help picking a paint. Or want me to do a mini design plan for you. Totally up to you!
All you have to do is tell me what kind of blog posts you want to see from me and subscribe to my blog if you aren’t already subscribed.
What keeps you coming back to my blog?
- I recently did a design plan for a client. She has a big game room with a pool table and TV. They also already have a pub table in a dark wood, so adding the lighter barstools will make a big change with our spending a lot of money. They live in California so I wanted to add some art that looked local. I am so in love with all of the pieces that I found. The rug, faux fig tree, ottoman, storage cabinet are all so well priced I thought I would include them in my Friday Favorites!
Sectional Arched Floor Lamp Round Ottoman Rug Cotton Curtain Panels Chandelier
Wall Clock California Art Storage Cabinet Faux Fig Tree Barstools
- I wanted to share another project that I have been working with clients on. I actually did their entire home about 10 years ago and now we are working on updating it all. When it is done I will have pictures taken. These were just taken with my clients phone. Even with phone pictures is shows how simple changes to furniture placement and paint can make a big difference!
My clients were super excited that I suggested we keep the black computer armoire black rather than painting it. The white chairs and desk are some of my Friday Favorites. Here are the sources-
White Chairs with gold dipped legs – Desk – Linen Black X Chairs – Black Basket Light –
Paint Boothbay gray HC-165 from Benjamin Moore
Remember to subscribe to my blog and tell me you subscribed by leaving a comment and tell me what kind of blog posts you want to see from me.
Then you are entered to win a mini design consult and a $50 Target Gift Card. (*update- closed winner announced below- Christa!)

You get the idea…tell me ANYTHING! I want to share what you want to read. I can see my analytics, but those could be skewed from a really good pin from Pinterest.
I’m definitely subscribed!!! I LOVE your home! I would love to see more of it. Every little change or tweak is so inspirational.
Thank you so much!
Love your blog and would love to see master bedroom makeovers.
great! Thanks!
I really like your Friday Favorites and hope to see more!
Awesome! Thank you!
I love your blog!! I love your blog posts that breakdown your design choices — especially the post that you explain how you styled your bookcases (which I totally love!!) I hope I win because if I do, I’d love your input on the bookcases in my family room! Right now they house books categorized by color and globes on top, but sometimes I think it’s just too much — too much color and too much stuff. A quieter palette might be more appealing. I need your magic touch!
Thank you Angie!
Hi Brooke,
I have been following your blog religiously since I fell in love with your Connecticut kitchen remodel. I think your kitchen is absolutely beautiful! So, I continued reading and was just hooked. Your practical tips, your design ideas, your recipes, I love every entry. I think the thing I love the most is how relatable you are and your blog does not make me envious of what I do not have but instead instills in me a love for my own home. I would love to hear more of your design ideas but also I love reading posts where you share tips on managing life as a mom.
I just subscribed, I don’t know why I haven’t before. Thanks for all the inspiring things you share!
-Christa
Well you just made my Friday:) thank you so much for your thoughtful words. I really appreciate that feedback. What a boost!
I was reading through comments before making my own and just wanted to say yes, you nailed it Christa. Too many bloggers/Instagram accounts are too staged and it does not look like anyone LIVES in their house. I feel inspired reading this blog, not empty or feeling like I can’t relate. 🙂
Thank you so much Christa for your kind words! You are the WINNER! I will shoot you an email on details!
I love your designs for big impact for small spaces.
thank you!
I am new to your blog, but am loving it so much! If I would win your mini design consult I would be SO HAPPY. I am design-challenged and am trying to tackle redecorating my living room. It is currently decorated in browns and creams and I would like to have some gray, navy and white. Something happier and refreshing, but I’m lost as to where to start. Our house is 1400 square feet, so I like that you understand the challenges of decorating in small spaces.
As for posts I’d like to see – anything about organization and maybe something for Spring; maybe outside, like a porch or window boxes or succulents.
Hi Brooke
Love your home. Enjoy Friday Favorites. I like seeing other homes, too. Always follow your one room challenge. Absolutely love your kitchen floor and how you have managed to nest a family of five in a small house , just like I did. You are very inspriring and that’s what makes me coming back for more.
I am already subscribed. I originally subscribed because I love seeing your home and how you’ve decorated it and I would like to see more of that!
Tania
I have been a subscriber since I first discovered your blog. I enjoy and appreciate the fact that you live in a small home, one similar in size to many of us, and that you show pride in your small spaces. I particularly like how you show that small and rather inexpensive changes can make big impacts. I echo a previous comment that your home does not make me envious (I tend to click right out of those sites!) but instead inspires me to take small, affordable steps into updating and upgrading our modest home. I would like to hear how you take how you dealt/deal with design decisions in your own home that you later regretted into things with which you are eventually happy/content. Show us how designing “goofs” can become “successes.” (Kind of like God what does with us!) ; )
HAPPY WEEKEND!
Love your blog (and subscribing now!) and enjoy your ideas on organization. Would love to see more of that. 🙂 We had NO closet space in our house in Pittsburgh (1930 was not the year of large closets, haha). Our current home does much better, but of course, after almost 7 years here, I feel the squeeze in some of our smaller closets. So those ideas are always great to see!
Have a fantastic weekend Brooke! 🙂
Your blog is great! I’m subscribed, and I would love to see more kids stuff and small space solutions! Thank you!
Hi there! I love your blog! I adore what you’ve done to your home. You have such great style with your decor. It feels contemporary yet classic and traditional, fun, flirty and warm, and is exactly what I strive for in my own home. I enjoy that you have a vast array of blog posts covering different topics, never gets boring! One thing I’m always interested in is where I can get good quality pieces without paying top dollar. Decorating a home gets so expensive, and when you have kids, it’s hard to justify spending money on something that will likely get milk spilled on it! However, I love all the beautiful expensive stuff!!! I am already subscribed to your newsletter, always look forward to reading and learning more! Thank you!
Brooke, I love the blog and have been subscribed for a while now. What initially drew me in was how layered and beautiful your home is – yet practical. Those are my favorite posts to read. I would read the occasional round up from you – cement tile choices, etc. I like your makeover posts – like the partnership with Lowe’s you did. I mostly love reading about your home and would enjoy you breaking down each space with floor plans, and of course how you store everything! I have a family of six in a similar amount of square footage. So between the similarity in space and the way your home is so well put together and organized I keep coming back to your blog for ideas! As for your specific posts – I love kid spaces, organization, and other home features. Thank you for the content you put out, I know it’s an additional job!
I subscribed yesterday! I started following you on insta and started looking at your blog from time to time and realized that I look forward to your new posts. Love them all! I especially love the variety and all the design hints. Even if I don’t get chosen, I really would like to use your service via some pictures, etc. Keep up the great work! Love, love your blog and I am very careful who I subscribe to. ?
I like it all. I just like all of the little details & the creative ways you take the ordinary to extraordinary! And organization is always a BIG plus =)
I can never get enough of your beautiful home and lifestyle!
I subscribed!! I would love to see more bathroom ideas!! We are getting ready to remodel our master bathroom, and it isn’t very big….I find so much pride in seeing the amazing things that Jaguar alumni are accomplishing! Especially the ladies!!
Just introduced by my friend Rachel! I am subscribing and would love to see posts on patio design! 🙂
I subscribed and I love your blog. I like the decorating posts and I also like your receipt posts. I just finished whole30 and want to keep eating that way.
Hi there! I have been dropping by your blog site for a long time now. Today I subscribed to the site. We have very similar taste in home decor. I really like that you make the most of your space and I would love to see more of those ideas as well. I like to try recipes and would also enjoy seeing new clothing finds that you think your readers might enjoy. I do love Friday favorites and hope that you continue to post those. I would love to see DIY projects and copy cat hacks that you are interested in trying. Thank you and keep up the good creative blog you have going:)-Heather
Love your blog! I like to see before and afters. 🙂 I would be so excited for a design consult!
Hi! I just subscribed! I really enjoy your posts and would love to see more of the same! I would also be interested to see how you organize your pantry and where it is stored. I have a small kitchen with limited cabinet space, and could use some inspiration!! Thank you!
Subscribed! I haven’t missed a post of yours in years! I absolutely LOVE your blog. There are many things in my house inspired by you! I love when you show how to use what you have and make the most of your space for function and beauty.
Subscribed!
I love seeing your space and small changes you make that have a big impact. I’d also love more guides and help on specific spaces I find hard to decorate. For example, how to style a mantle or a bookshelf.
I’m subscribed! I like having a variety of posts, but I’m most interested in kids’ spaces (from other homes too) and organization. I have four kids 5 and under in a small-ish space, so hit me with all the inspiration please!
I am subscribed to your blog. I would continue to see more of your home. And continue to share why you pick certain pieces in your home and ways to make our house a home. I adore your daughters’ room and upatairs family room so much and I love the furniture choices and placements – in places that I wouldn’t think of. Your blog is the one I come back to time and time again. You have a gift for making a home so cozy, and a genuine home.
Hi! I can’t believe I hadn’t already subscribed. I follow the link from IG on a regular basis and read or get ideas, but now I’ll conveniently be notified! Yay! I’d love to see more ways to style rooms with open/bare walls. I love a smaller home with textured spaces – bookshelves/windows, doors… that fill up spaces. My current home is not large, but not a ton of character. I love how artistic and eclectic your style is – with a great touch of beachy/boho. Help me bring character to my boring/open spaces!! Thanks!! ?
I just subscribed! What I’d love to see more on is how you design spaces that are kid friendly without letting the “kid” atmosphere take over. I’m currently pregnant and trying to strike a balance between what I like, and what will work with a little one. This will start with the nursery, of course, but I’m also interested in how to make the rest of the house a place that I’m proud of without making it a place I’m afraid to set kids loose in.
Thanks! Looking forward to reading more!
I enjoy everything you do, but would love some posts on organization, command centers, etc. And I would love to win a mini design! I’m currently redoing two rooms in my house !
I am subscribed and would love to win design services. I think you offer a great variety of posts, but I’d love to see more on kids and also how you compile/make decisions for the art, pictures, frames…stuff on your walls. You are sweet to ask for input!
I LOVE your home and taste… it’s beautiful 🙂 I particularly love your kid spaces and would love to see more!
I’ve been reading for awhile and never minded just clicking over from insta to see your latest post but I just subscribed. I have told ya before this is by far my favorite blog. It’s down to earth and consistent. It’s about a real home with a real family living in it and making it work. I love the post about where you do your daughters’ hair. We have a small home as well I’m always looking to utilize all the nooks and crannies. Every time I think we need a bigger home I step back and evaluate what can actually just be rearranged. Ithe drives the husband crazy but it’s how I survive! I can’t really request anything specific that I lover the see more of bc I like it all! And what I wouldn’t give for some professional help when it comes to designing our living room or dining room or bedroom. You name it I need all the help.
Hi Grace! I am so excited to type something that I feel I have erased my words a1000 times!! But here we go! I am totally obsessed with your blog,I found it a year ago and it has changed my house and view of decorating !! :). I love every corner of your house the details, the colors, the furniture, but what I like the most is your family!! Love those little girls enjoying their beautiful bedroom! I could keep going on but I will say I would love to see more about kitchen/bedroom spaces. What keeps making me come back to your blog? It makes me dream that one day my house will look as amazing as yours!!!
Thanks for everything!! Have a great day!
Just subscribed! I too live in a small home (1600 sq. ft.) with my husband and six children- ranging in age from 9 to 24! And, we home educate, so my home is always full. To be fair, my eldest is home briefly before his wedding this June, and another comes and goes due to college, but even so, we are usually busting at the seams! I appreciate good design in small spaces, so keep up the posts about maximizing storage, how spaces work together, affordable and dual purpose design, and the how to’s of infusing spaces with meaningful details.
Oh yeah- our home is a Midwest farmhouse, built in 1900, so I especially love older homes that create challenges but add interest.
