We moved from Utah to Connecticut in January of 2015. The home is a Cape Cod style home that was built in the 1950’s. Needless to say the bathrooms needed a major remodel. I love the charm of this built in armoire and it adds so much storage that we need. This is the before and after. I couldn’t even handle the before for the few short weeks we had it. It is actually the main bathroom on the main level. It didn’t to function a lot better than it was!

The previous sink was a pedestal. The bathroom was small but could handle a larger vanity. I really wanted a piece of furniture to go with the era of the home. I had this piece that I actually used as a changing table for both of my girls. I painted it in paris gray chalk paint from Annie Sloan the wax top coat helps to protect the wood from water,
it just beads up and very easy to clean.

The little curtain helps to hide all the bathroom storage, I have organizers for toothbrushes and contacts etc. I made it and used this Tension Rod so we can draw back the curtain easily.

I found this sink at Ikea, you can find it HERE. We had to cut a hole in the top and on the bottom shelf for the pipes. It was not very attractive to see that big hole, I made the little draw curtain to hide all our storage.

I am a big bather so I wanted as big of a tub we could fit in the space. We went with the Archer soaker tub. We ordered it at Home Depot and both came in scratched. I ended up getting it at a local plumbing supply store for even a better price. They stocked it and inspected it before giving it to us. I highly recommend going that route.

This shower curtain was the main piece that tied everything together. I have navy and pops of pink in my family room that you can see from the bathroom. I wanted it all to flow nicely. I found it at Anthropolgie, you can find it and other amazing one HERE.

This is an updated picture of the mirror I just bought. I wanted something a little larger and without a frame. I like that I can just lean it and slide it over when I want to use the plug. This happens to be our master bathroom, so it gets used a lot and actually functions very well. We keep it really clean and make sure to put everything away so there is no yelling early in the morning!
Gorgeous!! Wish our cape came with an upstairs bathroom!! In do time!!
We have one up and down but only two, so we had to make them really functional!
I LOVE your bathroom! You are honestly a design genius. Everything is perfect! And I love that metal cabinet!! So gorgeous B!!
Thanks Kim!! Love ya!
The remodeling work looks fantastic! I like the little touches that you have made to make the room look even better, such as that little draw curtain beneath the sink to hide the plumbing. That being said, great job! Thank you for sharing your tips and opinion on the matter. Cheers!

I love everything you do. I feel like I could snuggle up and get cozy anywhere in your home. I've been trying to decide on a style for my home and I am now seriously considering your cozy country style. It's just so homey. Plus living in Cape Cod would be a dream. Visited there once. Anyway, thanks for being awesome!
