Where do you go for home decor inspiration? There are SO many places to be inspired in this world, we are truly blessed. I am kind-of a home body. I don’t need to leave my home much. I leave to workout and occasionally grocery shop (I want to do Insta-cart so I don’t even have to do that!). My husband he likes to get out. He was off on Monday this week and he wanted to go out to lunch and kept asking if I needed to stop anywhere. So I said sure. Let’s stop by Serena & Lily, one of my favorite shops and Trader Joe’s. I am sure glad we stopped. It was just the inspiration I needed, especially for design ideas and Home Decor. I help a few clients via email who are long time clients of mine, I also do “Ask a Designer Series”, not to mention for my own home, oh and this blog, I need to come up with ideas to share with all of you, so I am always looking for ideas. See what inspired me this week with some of may favorite things…
I thought I would share some pictures I snapped with my phone. I loved this entire set-up. I have always liked putting ottomans under an entry piece. But the accessories they used on this are SPOT-ON! Notice not a lot of little things- three large statement pieces. BTW I need that plant in my collection. (Find Lanterns HERE).
And I didn’t know I needed a new light in my kitchen until I saw THIS one! I am seriously contemplating getting it! After I shared this picture on my Instagram my client ordered THIS white mirror in the pic.
One reason I like to stop in Serna & Lily is because they are always changing their store. It feels like a home to me. Kevin said he wants to move in too. I love THIS new wallpaper they added behind the shelves.
A green cookbook? Yes please! I ordered THIS cookbook when I got home (yes I found it cheaper online). Also notice the basket weave ottoman it is on? Well I totally saw one exactly like it at Target last week and was thinking where I could squeeze it in our home. (Find the Target version HERE).
What a fun dining room idea! Benches up to the table are my favorite. We had one growing up and it fit all four kids perfectly. THIS one shown in the pic is unique. Find the rug HERE, those chairs on the wall are my dining chairs, find them HERE.
Cutest little nook idea- love the drawers under the bed! And THIS polka-dot pillow in the green version isn’t too bad either!
THIS bed has always been a favorite of mine. THESE camp stools all over their store are on my “someday wish list” but until then I did find THESE that are half the price (Love the green version). You are welcome!
And a couple more of my Favorite things from the week (from the comforts of my own home)….
- I wore some camo workout pants in an Instagram Story and a lot of you asked about it (mine were old) But I found THESE that are similar….but WAY better because they are high-rise! I only buy high-rise workout and lounge pants lately, the black version HERE are great too! Use code MORE for 40% off!
- THIS sweater, the knot in the front. Enough said, oh and the price!
- Thank you for all your book recommendations from may last post. I ended up picking Big Magic to listen to. I have liked it so far (although right off, I don’t believe in Magic, I believe God is the magic). I didn’t realize it was the same author as Eat, Pray, Love, I think if I knew that I would not have started it (I didn’t care for that book). Anyways I will report back! Someone recommended The Story Teller (had a lot of great reviews) and I downloaded that one too for my next read!
- I just got THIS dress! I kind of want to wear it all the time- well I have worn it two weeks in a row to church. It is from my friends clothing company Bluish and Co. (mine is a small). Hurry and grab one because they cold out last time really fast!! But seriously Finn…
Hope you all have a great weekend! I will be back Monday for “Ask a Designer Series”, a Paleo Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe (I can’t believe I haven’t shared yet!) and something different “A Day in the Life” I will be sharing our basic everyday- how I blog and our daily life with a 19 month old!
I am going to obsess over the camp stools all day!!! I love the entry way design so much.
I look forward to your blog posts. I must say I get sucked in and the next thing I know its a couple hours later and a few new Pinterest boards.
Thank you for inspiring me.
you are SO kind! thank you very much!!
You already know what a HUGE inspiration you are to me. I don’t really go out either, so I don’t really have any stores that I gather ideas from(though I do love me a trip to Target). Thanks for always sharing the new things you find.
you are the best! And a good old trip to Target does a body good too!!
Thanks for sharing photos from your inspiration shopping excursion. I do the same thing. When my husband told a friend I was going to such and such store, the friend’s reply was, “That’s expensive.” My husband replied “No, not really, she’s shopping for ideas”.
exactly!! And sometimes you find a treasure that is worth the price! xxxx
