We replaced our 1970’s doors with iron doors. Besides the fact that the doors had some damage I really wanted to replace the doors for something that let in more light!!!! The right lighting in a home is really important to me. I try to avoid anything that blocks out the natural light.
I was talking to Kevin about where we could find the iron and glass doors we wanted. He reminded me that our new nephew (married my niece) sells iron doors! He came over to the house to measure back in March, drew them out, gave us a price and we put a deposit down to order them. They took awhile to have made, just like most things right now. But so worth the wait! (He works for @stylesirondoors).
Front Door Before and After-

We love it!!! Feels very mountain modern on the exterior and really updates the rock!

I took the after photos of the front door at night, you CAN see right inside if the lights are on. I am not concerned with people seeing in, we live in a circle, in a private community, well off the main road. I would not have done a glass door like this for our Connecticut home where we lived on a main road to the beach. We could add curtain panels to the inside on the sides of the door, which would look pretty, if we want more privacy.

Obviously inside isn’t finished yet, but love that you can see a peek at our star light fixture and right to the back of the house!

Pumpkins living on another week…until Christmas makes it’s appearance!
Back Door Before and After-

See Noah?? The pups have a dog door now! It doesn’t open unless we open it. So if we are home and they want to run around outside we can pop that little door open for them.

I will show the view from inside once it’s done! Also missing the copper penny gutters, hoping they arrive soon!

And our backdoor! What a change this space has gone through! Notice how the sliding door before only came half way across the steps. Now both doors can open, utilizing the whole step and making the space feel so much bigger.

You can see how the doors are more like a mirror when no lights are shining on the inside.

Both doors do open out, which we really like that they don’t interfere with anything inside the house.

Pup approved! And if you have’t met Olive on my social media yet….this is our newest baby girl!

Wow these doors are gorgeous!!
The doors are so gorgeous! I can’t wait to see more of the inside! And your new puppy!!! So sweet! We have a 14 year old Jack Russell mix and a 1 year old Saint Bernard- and 3 young kids- so I feel like our house is always a mess. Could you do a post on keeping your house clean, especially with pet messes (mainly dirty paws)? Thanks!
I love the iron doors!!!!
