Hello! I have a bunch of random favorites from the week and answers to favorite questions I got from you! I thought it would be fun to compile them all here. And I am very excited my mom is coming into town tonight to stay for the weekend and Finn’s birthday, he turns 2! If you have been a reader here I bet that has flown by for you as well. We are planning on going into the city to Black Tap Craft. We went last year and the girls think it is tradition. They have milkshakes that are huge- one was called tootie fruity and had a whole pop tart sticking out of the top and licorice (kind of gross to me) but just wild and creative shakes and also food. We plan on spending time on our back-deck and roasting some Smore’s too! What you are up too?
Let’s get started….
S’more Sticks– I shared that I was spray painting our new s’more sticks and I got questions! You can find the sticks I bought HERE I spray painted the handles all in My Favorite Spray Paint I hung them up with a long hook like THIS. Nice to have a place to store them.
Outdoor Pillows- I don’t know what pillows I used last year? I had some white in pictures that are outdoor but I use them inside now. So I wanted to add a couple more to our outdoor sofa. I got THESE black and white pillows and THESE gray with tassels the green is from last season, but found similar HERE
Grout Stain- HERE Did you know that you could stain your grout? I had no idea! I watched on Mint Arrows stories as she was staining her grout- looked so good! Find the Grout Stain HERE. A lot of you said you have used it and loved the result.
Knife Holder- We have little space in our kitchen so we hung our knives on our fridge. Several of you saw it and asked about it because the one you have has fallen down. You can find the exact one we use HERE.
Bread Pan– I had several questions on what Bread Pan I use. I actually have a Nordic Ware pan (but with pumpkins all over it) that so many of you swear by Nordic Ware! But I just got THIS one as per a recommendation and I have loved it for baking my Mom’s Bread.
Dress– I wore THIS blue and white stripe dress last Sunday and LOVE it- especially the price cant be beat, oh and it has pockets too! I had a lot of questions what shoes I wore. It was cold out so I wore natural colored low boots. I also layered THIS navy cardigan over it.
Gap- I really like shopping at the Gap- I always know how things. Fit, they run true to size. They have 40% off most everything with code HAPPY – I ordered THIS classic top, perfect for Spring and Summer.
Pillow Inserts– I get asked this SO often. I added my favorites to “Shop my Favorite Things” . You can find inserts HERE on sale or also HERE. I size up only pillows inserts. So if I have a 20″ pillowcase I use a 22″ pillow insert.
Eyebrows- Yes- eyebrows. I get asked about my eyebrows every so often. They are micro-bladed. BEST thing I have spent money on! It can be pricey- mine cost $500 for that first time. I believe the touch-up is less. And depending where you live you can get them for less. They actually need to be filled in again- it is something you have to get done about every year because it fades. It is like a tattoo. But mine have faded a lot. So I used MAC eyeshadow to fill mine in with THIS color. I had a friend who worked there for years and that is what they all use. I use THIS eyebrow brush to apply the eyeshadow.
Organizing Books- I had book club the other night. We read “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up”. Overall everyone liked it! We joked that she didn’t have kids, because some of it was unrealistic. But I walked away with added value to my life. Even just the way she folds her clothes! And also to be able to let go of clothing even if it cost a lot and you hardly wore it. I loved that. So when I decluttered my clothes I really just looked at my clothes as if they all cost the same and didn’t associate a value on them. It helped!
A few readers shared these organizing books to read and they liked better-

I love to see what you are up to! And our Nesting with Grace Facebook group makes it super easy. I noticed that FOUR members used the new Opalhouse Peel and stick wallpaper. Very fun to see it all up. You can shop all the wallpaper HERE. I am debating on what wallpaper to do- I am going to add it to the walls on the stairs down to the basement in our house!
Do you mind sharing what size dress you bought, or just if you ordered your usual size or ordered up. Reviews said it ran small.
Thx!
yes! I ordered a medium- I am in-between a medium and a small. Happy I went with medium!
Brooke, I love how you are an open book! Thanks for sharin about your eyebrows. Did you have thin brows before? I always thought you were just blessed with awesome brows!
Thanks! They are SO blonde and thin!! Like no eyebrows. So I really needed it!
Love your patio and beat ideas\tricks. Do you leave everything out all summer or do you nightly bring stuff in?
yes! I leave it out all summer! I stand the cushions up at night or when we aren’t out there- that way they don’t get tree droppings or bird droppings on them and the rain will just slide off!
This might sound silly but could or have you shared a picture of how you stand them up?
sure! I will post it!
Do you mind sharing where you purchased your shade on your door? Color also. Thanks.
I have a blog post here- http://nestingwithgrace.com/new-roman-shades-in-the-kitchen/
Hey, Brooke! The Simplified Life author is actually Emily Ley, not Lee. I didn’t want your readers to get confused if they went to look for it later , without your attached link. 😀
I so enjoy your blog and stories! Looking forward to seeing how you installed your patio/deck lights. I have some too and am still trying to figure it out. Happy weekend!

Hi! I love your style and outlook on life! I have a question about your window seat cushion. What is that style of stitching called? I love the more casual look Vs. More taylored welting. I just have no clue what it is called. Thanks!
It is called a Mattress Cushion- French Stitching! Thanks!
