We have been getting our deck ready for Spring and Summer. We just started to get all of our furniture delivered from Raymour and Flanigan. My husband spent some time setting it all up, with excited girls watching. With a tiny house you really look forward to your outdoor space becoming an extension of your home. It allows us to invite friends over and not feel so stressed about where to put everyone. When we purchased our home one of the big things that sold us, and mainly my husband was the large backyard and deck. I like to gather inspiration on Pinterest. I start by pinning things that I love to my “outdoor living” board. Then I went back through the photos and looked for things that I “pinned” a lot of. This is a big thing I tell clients to do, it helps to gather ideas of what they want their home to feel and look like. Here are some of my inspiration photos…
We live about a half a mile to the beach, so I love being able to use some nautical decor. Isn’t this entire set-up just classic? I will be using a lot of navy in our decor. (Source)
My friend Jen from City Farm House. Just shared her new outdoor space. I love how it turned out. And especially how it looks so inviting for a big fun party or an intimate gathering.
These hanging outdoor lights just create such a finished touch and ambiance to a space. I love all the plants, pillows and hanging hats on the fence in this space. (Source)
This deck feels very nautical without a bunch of boat oars and seashells. I would love to have a hanging bench one day. This space feels so cozy and truly an extension of their home. (Source)
This is my inspiration board of items I have coming or similar items to things I have. Before I ordered everything I measured out our deck and drafted out the space making sure that everything would fit. You could also measure and tape things off on the deck to make sure you have enough room to walk around comfortably.
Here are links where to buy the items I have shown-
I am having a custom BEACH sign made from Queen B Home I can’t wait to see it
We just installed the new black light from Lighting Design you can find the exact one HERE. I love the difference it made. We still have some work to-do, but we are enjoying the progress so far! I am excited to also share the process of painting our deck and the full revel as soon as the weather cooperates and everything arrives! You can always follow me on Pinterest and make sure to sign up to receive my blog posts in your email in-box as soon as a post a new one HERE.
