Primary Bedroom Cloud Wallpaper Ceiling and New Bed

Our bedroom got a refresh this week. I’ve been wanting to change out our bed and take our existing one to the cabin. With the original 1970’s brick wall being so light, I wanted a bed that would contrast. Sharing our new bed, bedding and how we continued our cloud wallpaper on the ceiling. Sleeping in the clouds!

Wallpaper-

I just love wallpaper. Wallpaper adds texture, coziness and character to a room. I had been searching for wallpaper for our bedroom, but really didn’t love anything for such a big space, until I found this cloud wallpaper.

We had previously just applied the wallpaper to the walls. But I decided that I wanted the ceiling done also. With my 8 foot ceilings I notice our ceilings a little more. We had added beams to our bedroom, but still felt like it was missing something.

I love how it turned out! It’s not an easy task to wallpaper a ceiling, and I wanted to go the full length of the ceiling instead of fighting against the beams and having a lot of cuts. We had 4 people helping. 3 of us holding up the wallpaper, and applying to the ceiling and the 4th person cutting and pasting the next section. It took us about 4 hours. Not bad! But our shoulders were pretty sore!

New Bed-

Knowing I needed beds for the cabin rental (we are currently working on), I decided to get our room a bed, and take our old one there. I wanted a bed that would stand out against our light brick wall. I love this Velvet Moacha Bed. I love the rounded shape and color against the wall.

Bedding-

I basically make all my beds the same. Sheets, quilt, duvet. Sometimes I just use sheets and duvet, but always a duvet. That is what gives your bed the fluffy look. But on our recent bedroom refresh, we did two duvets, yes, two instead of a quilt. We can easily fold the one duvet back over the bench, but we keep the house pretty cold, so we like to sleep with two. Plus a quality duvet shouldn’t make you feel hot. This organic duvet insert is my favorite, I use it on every bed we makeover.

Brick Wall-

Our brick wall is painted Romabio Classico Limewash, color Bianco as the base then Nube Gray Limewash over the top. We found the Limewash locally, which you can go to Romabio website to see if a store near you sells it. (Art on the wall is vintage).

Rug-

I swapped this gingham gray rug for this blue hand knotted rug that was in our dining room. Big fan of this rug!

Cafe Curtains-

We have never had any kind of window coverings on these smaller windows, it faces our backyard. But it felt like they needed something to pull the room together, and wouldn’t mind a little privacy when all the kids are running around in the backyard. I bought these cafe curtain panels for our kitchen, and decided to give them a try in here. LOVE them!!! (Find more Cafe Curtains HERE).

I love the cafe curtain look. Still not blocking out a ton of light, just adding some texture and warmth to the walls. I was thinking of adding roman shades there and still might. I hung them with these tension rods.

Curtains-

We added the same blue curtains all through our home, love the consistent color story!

Cozy Corner-

The chair in that corner we have had since we first got married, over 20 years!

I must say that I would have never thought, or even considered, putting mismatched curtains in a bedroom or in any other room for that matter. I love how you think outside of the box and how unapologetic you are with all your design choices. Your bedroom looks fantastic, and you are my hero😅
