I shared last blog post how excited I was that my mom was in town. She flew in Friday night and just flew out today. It is always sad to see her leave. She is just such a joy to be around. She is happy doing whatever we are doing, so easy going and helpful. The girls went back to school today giving my mom and I some time to go shopping at one of our favorite spots, Shop Terrain. I brought my camera along and snapped some pictures of things that inspired me. From succulents, fall colors, bees, dishes, cutting boards, smells and food…always food. It was a perfect September day, the weather was breezy and about 72 degrees. Come see what inspired us on this gorgeous day and how we ended the day…too much of it I might add!
I loved THIS gingham plaid dinnerware it comes in two colors…awe dreaming
I wouldn’t mind the entire basket of THESE tiny bowls
THESE cutting boards…such a great gift!
We stopped and smelled THIS yummy pumpkin candle. It was so good. You can find my shirt HERE / Shoes HERE
We had lunch too, I always get the soup of the day, it never disappoints. This restaurant was what inspired my flower pot bread recipe. You can find recipe HERE.
We had about 45 minutes before I needed to drop my mom off at the train to head to the airport. I had remembered that I wanted to take my mom to try “The Best Cookie in Connecticut” according to a recent article I read. In the article it said that Levain Bakery was the best in New York and I agree with that statement and also Ruby Snap was the best in Utah and again spot on. So I took my mom to see if Leisha’s Bakery lived up to the article for Connecticut. It totally did! The service was amazing and they gave us a couple cookies on the house because we told them about the article, it was news to them and they were pretty excited. Fun to bring them good news!

After the overdose on cookies I took my mom to the train to head home. Tears were shed. So I took my sweet baby Finn home and waited on the porch for his sisters to get off the bus. Putting that little hat on Finn brightened my mood:) and cookies waiting in my purse for my girls helped too. I also had it filled with THIS, my new favorite thing that I think every mom with a baby should have. You can fill it with all the baby necessities then easily grab it and stick it in different bags. I love it because I use a different bags for church, soccer games and shopping. Now I won’t be un-preparred and scrambling to shift diapers, wipes, an outfit and also it comes with a changing pad. Genius.
Thanks for stopping by on a day with my mom! If you are around a Shop Terrain, do yourself a favor and stop in!
Hey girl love the post! Aren’t mothers the best? So glad ya’ll had fun! Little Finn is getting so big! love all the pics!
That store looks amazing – I bet I could get lost in there for hours! Thanks for the beautiful pics. Also, those cookies made my mouth water! I’ll have to check out ours in NC someday. Yes, it is SO hard to say goodbye to mom. We always feel a little mopey around here when my mom goes back home to Florida. It’s nice to find some joy and laughter in the little things and Finn’s hat did just that for you. It’s too cute and so is he – makes him look like a baby from the early 1900’s! I love your design posts so much but thanks for sharing a glimpse into your everyday life and for letting us know that you are human and will break down and have a chocolate chip cookie (or two) every once in a while!
Thank you for your comment Kara. It is a fun store, love to go a browse and get inspiration. Hard to have family leave, but it is so nice to have that quality time when they come. Love to hear if you try those cookies!
Sounds like so much fun and the weather sounds beautiful. I wish it would cool off here. You are so blessed to have your Mom . I know you must miss your family in Utah. Thanks do much for sharing your great pictures and shopping trip. I wish they had Terrain here. Enjoy the rest of your day with your little ones!
