My husband, Kevin had the morning off so he was able to take the girls to their first day of school with me. It was so fun to have him there. I remember last year seeing all the Dad’s and wishing he could be there as I cried dropping Lola off to her first day of Kindergarten. It was a good morning. The girls couldn’t wait to get to school. And I was pretty thrilled to send them off then looked forward to hearing all about their day when they got home.
After we passed them off to their teachers we went grocery shopping (pretty happy to have Kevin there, as I am sure he was stoked). We did go out to lunch at one of my favorite spots right up the street from our house, Mecha Noodle Bar. I had Pho and it was perfect for the first day of September and it happened to be raining too. Finn even napped while we ate. After we stopped at Anthropolgie because I just had a need and the wants.
I bought THESE dish towels that I told you on THIS post I wanted to get. I love them in my kitchen with my tile. (Kitchen details HERE). They aren’t really “fall” per say but they have gotten me in the mood to bake something pumpkin and decorate for fall.
We stopped and picked up some mums too. They are pretty green, but I can see some white blooms. The garden cashier at Home Depot said to not put them in direct sun and they should bloom.
And I was SO excited to stumble upon a a BIG sale they were having and that is still going on. You can save an ADDITIONAL 40% off on clearance. Shirts from Anthropolgie for less than $20 is an awesome deal. This is what I bought….
My mom is coming to stay for Labor day weekend. She gets in late tonight and we are so excited. We are going to watch Ella play soccer in a tournament all day on Saturday. I am sure we will be doing some baking too. She already sent me THIS pumpkin cobbler dessert we are going to try. Stay tuned!
And I plan I making THIS healthy pumpkin bread that I made last year. SO good.
Basically this is me right now…. Happy Weekend!

Pretty! I always get excited about Fall like that too as soon as school starts or the first leaf falls. Love the touches of copper in your kitchen. I always think it looks so warm. Where did you find yours?
Thanks Donna! I found bowl at Good Will and the kettle from etsy.com/shop/HarperandArrowMarket
