We recently made over my sisters master bedroom as a gift for her birthday! My brother-in-law and dad helped a lot with the board and batten. And actually my brother-in-law replaced the carpet with new wood floor (that matched the rest of their home). I will share all of the room soon, just waiting for her bed and rug to arrive! Today I wanted to share all her new Target Bedding, because it is SO good!!!
Master Bedroom Before and After

We added board and batten to the walls and painted it in Intrigue from Benjamin Moore (flat finish). More to come on that later!

Let’s break down her king bed bedding! The nice thing is 6 of the pillows included the inserts. The inserts aren’t down, so they do require regular fluffing and will break down over time, but for the price they are great!

- UPDATE- see the bed we used and finished room here

My making the bed recipe:
- Stack the sleeping pillows in the back.
- Fold down the quilt to expose the sheets (pulls in your accent color).
- Bunch up a duvet with insert or a comforter at the end of the bed for a full fluffy look.
- Layer a throw over the duvet or comforter, this pulls in your accent color and makes it extra fluffy (totally extra look!).
- For a king bed I did 3 24″ pillows in the back, vs the 2 that she had before (2 work for a queen). You want your pillows in the back to reach the ends of the bed.
- Add an accent pillow in the front to coordinate the colors. I recommend 24-26″ for a king in front. For a queen the same or could go down to 20″ at the smallest.
I will be back to share the rest of her room soon!!
