The previous home owners had their washer and dryer in the room next to the kitchen, which is right off the garage. We decided we wanted our washer and dryer in our bedroom along with two other areas in our home. I just didn’t want to have clothes out in a space that is heavily walked through, laundry can get crazy here and I didn’t want everyone to see my underwear or a pile of dirty clothes as they came into the kitchen. Most importantly we really wanted a counter space we could use for kitchen overflow and for, well, my potting station for plants.
Laundry Room/ Mud Room Before-

Gotta love the wallpaper!! It was installed in 1970, just needed an update! And I was the person who was willing to take it on…
Butlers Pantry and Plant Room After-

Very happy with how this space turned out!! Went with my favorite color, mustard on the cabinets called Leap of Faith from Benjamin Moore. Last minute I decided to do the shelves in Bone from Farrow and Ball, the same color as our kitchen cabinets. I feel like it broke up the mustard and black nicely. Walls are painted All White from Farrow & Ball.

Scotsman Ice Maker // Multi Color Runner // SMEG Electric Kettle // Glass Cups // Canister
Handmade Tile // Mugs // Baskets // Citrus Art // Drink Fridge // SMEG Frother // Cast Iron Sink

That tile tho. It is a show stopper! Made by hand from Flmceramics, the tile name is Iznik, color cast iron. I like that it’s a fun pattern but is also timeless.

We have this cast iron sink in here, which has come in handy lots of times already! I like how deep it is. I had it painted in Black on the base. It is from Vintage Tub, the same company that I got our tub from in CT and this house too! Step stool is a must for Finn!

We did a SMEG mini fridge in here for drinks. It is the perfect little size! We actually had that fridge in our home gym in CT.

The door we swapped out for this iron door, with a dog door cut out!!! We just open their little door when we are home and the dogs can run in and out! They LOVE it!!! This is also a nice spot to keep their dog food.

Outside view of the door! Cute pups loving their life at the house and the yard.

My friend gave me that “Our Nest” sign and it is just perfect here!

This side of the room actually had a closet and a much smaller bathroom. We took out the closet and made the bathroom bigger with a pocket door. I will share that bathroom soon! This is the wallpaper we used, I wish you could see it more because it really works so well with our kitchen too!

Hung that Calendar Wall Tapestry as a fun unique art. It was the perfect colors.

Our counters are the same as our kitchen surround, Black Soapstone. They are beautiful!

Star light fixture is a favorite! I actually repeated a similar star light in two other spots in our home.

Peek at the wallpaper we just hung in our office! And our green pantry cabinets, see how it flows from room to room?

The cutting boards on the wall double as decor, we drilled a hole in the handle so I can pull them off the wall to make large charcuterie boards.

I have a pots and things that I can quickly pot a plant or wrap a gift up! Items we use, double as decor on the shelf!

Yes, I have a diffuser in every room! The aria is my favorite and fit this space so well. I like that it also can make the bathroom smell good that is right next to it.

We have our Berkey Water Filter in here and a bunch of cups in the drawer we can quickly make a drink and the kids can all reach it. I liked it by the door too when kids are playing they can run in and grab water!

Our ice maker we went all out and did this under cabinet ice maker! I have shared my love of pebble ice before and the ice maker we used to have (this one) we moved it to our little basement kitchen (I will share that soon!).

Hope you enjoyed that tour! Ok, now that you saw this room, what would you call it room?? Butlers pantry doesn’t feel right!
Back hall (or front or side) or breezeway but not sure if that fits either
It turned out so well and has such great vibes! I’m always so excited to see the next renovation update and use the inspiration to see the potential in my own home. Can’t wait for more!
Potting Pantry? Just beautiful as is your entire home!! Great choices!
Oh I like that!!! Potting Pantry!
Love it! ❤️ This space – or plantery as I saw someone say! 🌱 – is beautiful and so functional! Our pups have a dog door too! Living their best lives!! Do you have a link for your cutting boards? Love the sizes!!
So great that you had this sp[ace to work with – love the dog door! Am wondering where you put coats and shoes when coming and going from the back yard? Now that I type that- would also love to see where coats go when coming from garage (assuming garage is your day to day entrance?) and guests at front door – I am always trying to organize coats and shoes at our door!)
I will share! We have lockers outside in our garage and right by our garage door inside!
So tasteful and convenient. Speaking of that, how about the convenience center? Everything in there is well appointed and “convenient”. Love your style and spirit!
Hi there, it really looks so inviting, FUN, and vibrant. You’re so good at adding color and pattern. Maybe you could call it “the bar” or “water closet” haha, like a play on words.
