Anyone else dream of a home office?? ME! And now a lot of us need a distance leaning space too! When Raymour & Flanigan reached out about partnering I knew I wanted to gift this makeover to to Rachel and Jeff to transform their dining room (that they never use) into a home office and distance learning space.
Before and After-
I actually took the before photo last year when we first went to Rachel and Jeff’s home to makeover their son’s bedroom. I knew those curtain valances had to come down! The after is still really similar furniture placement, just more practical for their family now!
Home Office Plan-
I always start with a plan! It helps to see if everything will flow well together. And the plan below I created back in March!! Then COVID hit and we had to put it on hold.
- Table Lamp
- Hanging Chandelier
- Area Rug
- Bookcase
- Swivel Desk Chair
- Writing Desk (this desk ended up out-of-stock so I ordered this desk)
- Bamboo Shades
All the main pieces were from Raymour & Flanigan. I have worked with them before and really like the style and budget options for everyone! Plus free shipping (on select items). And they do have a showroom too you can pop in if you are on the East.
Their family loves how it turned out! And in the end it is 100% better than before because it functions for their family.
Shop Raymour & Flanigan here. And if you want to see the rest of their home and all the rooms we made over you can find their master bedroom here, Luke’s room here, Patrick’s room here, Eat-in Kitchen here and Family Room here!

This looks lovely, but why not just reuse their dining room table for desk space? Since you have 2 chairs at the “desk”, and this is an office/distance learning space, I assume this will be use by more than one person, but the desk is so very narrow! How will more than one person work int his space at a time????

only one person will be using it at a time, maybe two for homework help, not for working.

I love it and the smaller rug was definitely the way to go. ❤️
