One of my favorite things in our kitchen is our open shelves. Of course it was the first thing I decorated for Christmas. And as I started to write this I realized it really isn’t a ton of Christmas, but it feels like a seasonal change. Just a couple bottle brush trees, and colorful bowls! I did end up adding some twinkle lights and festive art! And linking up some favorites from my Target trip the other day….
Visions of Sugar Plums Danced in their heads…isn’t that art just made for our kitchen?? From my favorite Lindsay Letters. She wrote “I read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to Eva all season long. I love this line – in a simple way, I think it truly captures the magic and excitement of Christmas.” You can find the art here and she gave me an exclusive 10% off coupon code NESTING10!
I collect a bottle brush tree or two every year! I linked some below that are just so pretty! These matte finish bowls I have wanted for awhile, now we have matching (color assorted) bowls. I donated the other bowls we had to a sweet friend. I love decorating with everyday items! PS- those bubble lights are a must-have!!
Do you buy cook books for the covers?? Me too.
We got the SMEG kettle a couple months ago, I decided to splurge since we boil water daily. Hate to admit it, I almost burnt down our kitchen from leaving a kettle going on the stove for WAY too long, I walked back into the kitchen after awhile and the water completely evaporated and the bottom of the kettle was black!! This new kettle has auto-shutoff when water reaches boil and when kettle lifted from base also a soft-opening lid prevents the sudden release of steam. Super safe.
Target Christmas Favs-
Also popped into Target to get baskets for a makeover and checked out all the new Christmas Decor! Below are some favorites….
- Stocking
- Bottle Brush Trees (Love how tall they are!)
- Flocked Garland
- Mini Bottle Brush Trees
- Ceramic Trees
- Cookie Jar Ginger Bread House
- Tassel Tree Pillow
- Bubble Lights (must-have!!! Totally a knock-off of my expensive Anthropologie lights!)
- Christmas Tree
- Pinecone Wreath
- Embroidered Tree
- Pom Pom Pillow
Hope that gives you some inspiration when you decide to decorate!

I hate to admit it, but I too went off and left a kettle on the stove. When I remembered, it was a dry black bottom. 🤦♀️ We don’t have a SMEG, but decided and electric kettle with auto shut off was the only way to go from now on. Your home is absolutely beautiful.

Thank you! Yes I never understood why someone would want an electric kettle, now I totally get it! Plus it heats water so fast!

I almost burned down our house when I was cooking and boiling water and the power went off during a hurricane. The power was off for a week and when it came back on we weren’t home. When we came back in the house, it was super hot and we didn’t know why. When we walked into the kitchen we realized I didn’t turn off the burner and the water evaporated and the pot had warped! The ceiling was even hot. Not I’m extra paranoid about turning off everything and never leave anything on the stove.

So scary!!!! Yes, same thing. The windows were all so humid because of the steam, and it was on HIGH!!!!
