My kids start school Thursday this week. Is it bad to say that I am kind of excited? I saw a picture on Facebook that went viral about the Mom cheering and doing leaps in front of her kids obligatory first day of school pictures. She was pumped. She is awesome, I get it. Don’t get me wrong I love my girls so much. But it will be nice to have them learn and not feel so much pressure to make sure they read and get something out of the day! I can pass that responsibility onto someone else. I would not be good at home schooling. Anyways I digress….
Now that they have started school I have started to think of how I want to add touches of fall to our home. I really don’t like seasonal decor as much as I used to. But I do want to make some simple changes. I thought I would share some things that are inspiring me right now and that I did last year.
I think this might be one of the most popular fall front porch photos on Pinterest. I am drawn to it because of the white pumpkins and white mums. I also love that copper mailbox, you can find it HERE. (source)
This is just stunning. I really like using eucalyptus as a fall floral. I plan on picking up several bunches at Trader Joes for my fall home tour. (source)
Another simple way to add fall to your home, again with the eucalyptus (source)
Well what is not to love about this dining area and the entire home? Notice the simple white pumpkins and touch of eucalyptus around the base of the pumpkin? Stunning. (source)
This was my fall center piece last year. I just grouped green apples, white pumpkins and a white pitcher with hydrangeas. I also made the wreath hanging on my chalkboard out of boxwood sprigs from my back yard. (You can find my chandelier HERE and a similar Chapati Bowl HERE).
My kitchen with a few fall touches. (You can tour my kitchen HERE).
We replaced the green apples after we ate them with apples we picked from a local apple orchard. I really like decorating with things that we actually use for decor. And I can not wait to go apple picking again this year.
My piano got a touch of fall with sunflowers from our yard in varied height glass jars. Inexpensive…basically a free fall display. (You can find my clock HERE)
Since I am reminiscing last Fall. I thought I would link our back to school dinner we did last year. We came up with some good questions to ask kids before school starts. We did the same thing last night with our girls. They love it and appreciate the tradition of it. You can find that post HERE.
Make sure to check back to see how I decorate my home this year for fall. I will be sharing one of my first fall home tours on September 15th. You can subscribe to my blog HERE to get an email when I post a new blog post.
Hey girl love the post! Can’t wait to see how you decorate for Fall!
